I actually did a retrofit where I had to cut the housing a little to fit the projector and the housing broke when the lights were shipped. I ended up buying the lights back and replaced the housings, but I'm not doing that again.
I dont understand what you mean by there fragile??! Are you talking about actually cutting up the projector? I personally never cut the projector. I installed them on my 03-05 head lights, yes they do require a lot of cutting...so would installing any other real HID projector like a tsx or s2000. I already said the morimoto projectors would be easier to install.

The beam width and foreground lighting is disappointing when you compare the morimoto projectors to the stock 06 or tsx projectors. You'll obviously get more color at the cut off with the morimoto head lights since it has a clear lens compared to the 06 projectors.

For the 03-05 head lights...its actually a lot easier to retro them to the high beam reflector. I initially retro'ed my tsx's in the high beam part with little difficulty.

It would be a lot easier if you just got a aftermarket projector style head light and throw out the cheap chinese projector and swap it in with a real HID projector.

I meant the headlight housings (the part that goes on the headlight lenses) on the 03-05 lights are flagile (I have about 5 cracked housings here), which is probably why there are so many of them with that hairline crack in them. And yes, the fog light area on the 03-05 lights IS a lot better to work with.

I must agree, those 6.0's look great. Nice cutoff. I am currently working on an 03-05 retro and would really like some of your advice. I have the lights apart and am still deciding the details like what is going in the clearance strips, turn signal, halos, demon eyes etc. I also have a set of 06's I am doing next but not like these. Going real aggresive on this set only for sure so far is this pair of 7 lens 45's I am stuffing in. You mind elaborating on the color mod.

Also do any of you guys have a o3-05 passenger side reflector housing cover that goes directly behind the lens cover. I see DKANO you said you have a few cracked lights so maybe u have one I could buy? Also need an 06 complete drivers side headlight if anyone has one. Not to worried about tabs, scratches, haze, or ballasts, bulbs. Would even be interested w/o the projector.

How to connect?!

Hey sorry to bring up this old thread, but for the Moriomoto D2S 3.0's I noticed that it comes with bulb retaining rings. Im assuming that will hold the bulbs in place, instead of the little clips from the oem headlights. My question is, how does the oem bulb plug into the hid ballast if there is a retainer ring in the way? Will it be as simple connecting the plug to the bulb as it is with the oem setup? Let me know if anybody has dealt with this problem? Thanks! sorry if this seems like a noob question. Just wanted to confirm before I start retrofitting.
