But damn...why do they torque those nuts so hard?
Because when an axle comes loose really bad things happen. And they take the torque of the wheel spinning.

Well they dont really take any torque.....thats the job of the splines on the axle shaft. Technically, u should be able to drive around with a missing axle nut and everything should stay in place.

I highly recommend buying new comp rods and putting the energy bushings in those. Good luck.

The only problem is you'll have to pay for pressing the comp rod bushings twice when your comp rod ball joints fail, which they will first now that everything around them is new! Any reason going with the rubber bushings as opposed to poly?

I actually got a 20 ton press so Im doing all the pressing myself now. I didnt really think too much about poly bushings. I figured these rubber ones should last me at least 5 years.

Few more updates to the car. I got a new bumper and wheels a few months back. Finally took the time today to clean the wheels and take a few pics. Bumper is a poly Kuruma Z Arch style. I made the mesh screen myself and installed it 2 days ago.

Wheels are Curva Concepts C300, 19x9 all around....powdercoated in hyper silver. Still need to adjust my camber and install some spacers.
