ANOTHER successfull bezel painting.
Took the plunge and did my headlights last weekend. It is quite the job to do it properly and I think I underestimated exactly how long it was going to take. All said and done it took me about 4 or 5 hours plus I let them dry overnight before reinstalling the lenses. I'm quite pleased with the result and it really sets off the frontend nicely. Can't make up my mind as to whether to paint the grille to match the emblem and headlights or leave the stock smokey chrome on there. Opinions? Next weekend the roof is getting done and wheels will be powdercoated... more pics to come!

Looks awesome. Nice job. The painted lights and grille really jump out on the BS and DG G35's. Yes, you should paint the grille.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I'm really happy with how these turned out. Yes, I did follow G35papa's DIY as well as chopstixx DIY, although I did have to leave them in the oven a few minutes longer to soften the glue up enough to remove the lens. I think I will end up painting the grille flat black as well, although now I kinda wish I hadn't painted the emblem anymore!
You can do this yourself, I'm positive. Read the DIY's, read them again, and take your time. Remember, it's all in the prep-work. That's the key to any successful painting project. The absolute worst thing that could happen is it doesn't look very good, so you re-do it.
(Yeah, it scares me too, but I'm going to take the plunge sometime later this summer when my work schedule isn't mega-crazy).

Just go for it. I live in a condo and was able to pull this off with minimal painting knowledge, just remember, it's all in the prep! I learned this even more so today as I got my roof painted black. Was pretty neat as I was able to get involved in every step inclduing the masking, sanding, 3 coats of base black and 2 coats of clear. Turned out great! I'll post pics once my rims are done.
