Deuce's Progression thread ! ! ! ! !

I am going to document the journey of my G35 in this thread
Owned it for 2-3 years now and had my ups and downs with it, almost sold it, but decided to keep it and put it through a transformation this year once and for all. I created a wishlist awhile ago but never fulfilled it. Hopefully now i will.

Started out like this, 03 Brilliant silver sedan with 64,000 miles:

Installed tints, got the Z spring combo

Full Matte black vinyl wrap!

the process..

Time to paint headlight housing and grille to match
Z-tube installed

after alot of work, here it is..

Decided to purchase some wheels. Not the best out there but I enjoyed them for a month or two, then the front offset really started to annoy me :/
Would've looked much cleaner with another inch or 2 drop i know!

my favorite part (the back end)

Now it sits without the wheels, and at the exact moment it is half matte black and half brilliant silver I am currently taking the vinyl off, and cleaning up the left over adhesive which is annoying.
I also purchased a non-doggy door trunk with filled in holes and it is currently getting painted BS.
Feels good to go back to brilliant silver, i truly missed it.

Hopefully I will be nearly finished by this years sedan gathering. looking forward to seeing you all!

Will be updating this thread with pictures as time progresses.

04/27/2011 - Trunk Painted

05/11/2011 - dropped off front bumper for repaint

05/18/2011 - bumper on and car cleaned. How it sits before the trunk, springs and wheels..

05/24/2011 - Trunk, Springs and wheels installed

Upcoming plans...
Full Detail - Paint Correction
HR Y-pipe
MD 5/16" Plenum Spacer
Ionic Rear Lip
Emblem-less grill
Ipod integration
HKS or Megan Muffler
Grounding Wires
Momo Shift ****
New headlight lenses
Spacers (maybe)

I used oracal vinyl. It was a pain in the *** though lol. Taking it off isnt fun either.

Ya i loved it in the beginning but after about a year it had small scratches and it wasnt as appealing.

Thanks, its something ive never seen before so i tried it. All the new cars come with all red nowadays

Bad news though, the vinyl ripped off the paint off the front bumper :/ and im sure it wiill be the same with the back bumper. What are some good aftermarket front bumpers? What are my options.

Oh damn you went with a wrap too? I saw your car at the Burbank meet we used to have like 2 yrs ago.

Do you have left over adhesive on your paint? If so how are you getting it off? Im suffering and goo gone isnt really working.

Found a great solution, get clay that you use to clay bar your car and get a spray bottle with carwash soap and water. Spray water on the clay and surface of car and use the clay to rub off the adhesive. Its been working great for me so far
