I was looking and wondering. Is the solenoid supposed to be on the bottom or the top?

Those look really good. How much have you spent so far on parts?

Props for doing it yourself, that was ballsy.

I think bottom. Just take a bright flashlight and put it through the projector opening and obviously you want the lifht in the bottom.

That looks great although i think you sat the low beam projector too low, I just did my retrofit with the morimoto minis about two weeks ago. The light output difference is huge and the cutoff is even better haha. I did my retrofit for 65 dollars but I had already painted my lenses previously and already had HIDs. Here is a pic of my finished product

xmystery the solenoid is supposed to be on the bottom and make sure when you paint them to let the paint cure before sealing them because if not all the gases that get released will be trapped in your headlight and cause terrible hazing inside the light, i learned this the hard way. But damn your retrofit is turning out great. How much time has it taken you?

and Max my mounts arent custom I used a morimoto mini projector and it mounts right in place of where the halogen reflector used to go, although I had to do a lot of cutting to make it sit properly

That is good to know. I made to sure I was putting the solenoids in the right place and a few days ago I started to doubt myself hahaa. Just dont want to put them all together and find out they are upside down haha.

And the paint thing, yes that is very good to know. I will wait probably a week before I go ahead and mount and finish up the lights.

It has taken me I would say somewhere in the 20 hrs so far. That is a rough guess. I did have alot of tiny adjustments that took a while. I wanted to get it right the first time so I took my time. Also the fact that im a weekend warrior doesnt help either. I try to do most my work when my day job and life dont get in the way hahaha.

Oh an by the way your lights look good too!!!! Question? What shroud did you use in yours? Looks like the mini gatlin gun.

Thanks. Yea sounds about right for a quad retro especially since you made custom mounts. You are going to love them when you are done though, soooo much better than stock. Yap you are correct about the mini gatlin, I knew that I wouldnt have a lot of room to work with so I tried to get the smalles shroud possible. After doing the retro though i realized I could have fit a larger shroud but im happy with the way they turned out.
