It cost me 250 i think that was including the muffler installation and also buying the muffler. The muffler as in the resonated X pipe.

Wow, that's cheap. I'm being quoted $500 - $600 to have it done, but that includes a custom made x-pipe section and 2 resonators.

Mine sounds very close to the coupe exhaust as well, just slightly louder because of the HFC's I'm running.

Have the Tanabe tips cut off and weld on a set of factory tips... then paint the muffler housings flat black, like the stock units, and you'll be good to go!

^ Haha... Not kidding at all. I'm planning on getting the new Invidia exhaust and doing the exact same thing to it.... Change the tips and paint the cans... I may even cut the tips of my Tanabe and put them on the Invidia... or just use the entire Tanabe mufflers. I just can't stand those Indivia tips!

I still have to check the placement of the tips or Tanabe vs OEM...but why you want to mix Q300 and Invidia?

Do you think FI is less louder then Tanabe..or Q300 is less louder then Tanabe...as far as i know tanabe is the least loudest but another problem is I have almost placed an order for Berck HFC's as well and know for sure the cop will stop me every day till the remember all my registration details by hard

I really like the Invidia, but can't stand the look of the huge cans on the mufflers and those ricey titanium tips. The Tanabe looks so much better than the Invidia IMO... so, basically, I'm looking for the best of both worlds.

The FI is by far the loudest out of the 3 and the Tanabe is easily the quietest. I'm running BERK's along with the Tanabe right now and it is still very quiet... Everyone says it sounds just like a stock G37 coupe... so I doubt you'll have a noise issues when you install the HFC's... you just need to make the system "look" more like the stock system, so the police won't bother you.

I saw a thread on an evo forum where the OP used a chemical called "Auto Sol" to remove the burnishing. It took about 20 minutes per side, and looked like normal SS when it was done.

How's your coils coming along?

then will see what your are suggesting, the thing is Tanabe looks like the loudest LOL but its not and now my problem is mainly the look of it.

What if I colour he tips??? my car is black rather then cutting the tips as man it wil hurt cutting the tips

Hmmm. That's not a bad idea. Although, I also prefer the Tanabe mufflers, as they are not as big... but I guess if I were to paint the Invidia's flat black, then they may not be as obvious.

Still waiting on the brackets for the fronts, but should have them soon. Once they are on, I will post up a review for all to see.

Keep in mind that I have Berk HFC's on mine, so that may be the difference your hearing. Not sure if DJ has HFC's on his or not. Also, the exhaust note tends to change some over the first 500 - 1000 miles of driving as the mufflers "break-in".

Incidentally, I've heard them both (G35 and G37 sedans with Tanabe's) in person and they sound virtually identicle to me.
