#2 Quick'n easy black grille!

As some of you guys know, soundmike did his quick and easy blacked out grille using plasti dip rubber coating.

Well I went to Home Depot and got mine today and gave it a try. That stuff does really come off easy if there is an edge to pull it off, and it suppose to be tough at the same time.

Did mine little different then Mike's with only the upper and lower chrome strips unpainted. I think this does look better then whole chrome grille as before. We'll see...

Here are also some more pics. My mods so far are; 20% tint all the way around, rear spoiler, painted grille, and 2RC intakes. Let me know what you guys think? Looks good or not?
I really can't wait to drop it, without the drop G just don't look right.

It looks good. I am pretty sure it's gonna peel off pretty easy. Take some good pics to see the quality of it.

If I don't like it, I'll peel it right off. According to soundmike this stuff hold on pretty good, and if you want it off you can peal it off.
Well we'll see...

yeah I was debating myself, that's why I did this. I wasn't sure how it would look being blacked out with some chrome being left. Well If I like this, and it starts pealing off, I'll spray it professionally with spray gun and maybe finish off with some clear coat. We'll see...

Here's a comparison between completely blacked out grille and with chrome up and bottom. What do you guys think??? I know it would look much better with blacked out headlights but I'm just not there yet.

wouldnt it be easier to pop the grill out and un-clip the emblem?

hard not to get any overspray even when masking off entire car

No not realy. It's easier not taking the grille out, and with grille being on the car like this is good enough to spray with this stuff. There's really pretty much not any overstray at all. Don't have to worry about that.

Looks great! I think having the chrome, ala Midnight Grille, is a better look on your slate. I've had mine all black since day 1 but the more i look at it the more i think i should peel off the top and bottom, just like yours. It just seems to flow better that way.

Overall, really nice. As always!

thanks Mike! as I remember yeah the chrome up and bottom does make it stand out better, well at least for darker colors.
Mike I still haven't seen yours from the distance.
