I know, I was pissed when I found where the nail was on the tire. Any thoughts on whether I should rush into a set of 19's or just get 2 new tires for the 18's?
Well, I don't go for looks so much as most people on the forums, so my opinions on up-sizing wheels and tires is probably a bit different. As far as I'm concerned, 18" is PLENTY big. You don't see a lot of racers using much more than that as it becomes a function of diminishing returns. Just look at the weight of a stock size RE-050A 18" rear tire at 28lbs. and compare that to a stock size RE-050A 19" rear tire at 30lbs. It gets even worse than that, because those 19" wheels will undoubtedly weigh more than an 18" wheel too. And even further compounding the matter of the added tire weight, is the fact that the added weight is furthest from the axis of rotation, so the effective rotational mass is greatly increased. This is basically a fail for acceleration, braking, and steering, handling, etc. Nonetheless, everyone still seems to think it looks cool, so I guess my opinion on the matter isn't going to win any popularity contests.
I want that too. But doing something else in the summer time for my project. I love that window spoiler djfarhan. I hope to save some $$$$$ to get this.
