what up ... i became a new owner of a 07 x about a 1.5 weeks ago ... lovin' it still but we'll see what happens after the honeymoon is over ...

anyways ... just wanted to know what everyone thinks of window tinting in the state of wisconsin and what you all have on your G ...

basically, a local shop can do 20% all the way around ... legal window tint in WI is 50% front and 35% for back plus back windowshield ...

i want it to be dark but i would also like it to be legal ... can't afford a ticket for now

i'm a really conservative driver ... don't really do anything that would look suspicious (sp?) and have a sedan that would look like someone 'older' would be driving .... just wanted to know what everyone else is doing ...

i have a 07 liquid platnium with the graphite leather interior ...

guy at the shop who will legally tint the window to WI standands showed me a legal tint on a black on black charger and it doesn't look all that bad ... i guess with a darker interior ... it makes the tint look dark also ...

I did the 50/35 at AutoTrim in Eau Claire. I went legal eagle for a few reasons - I had a previous car that had the really dark limo black (5?) tint and it was very hard to see at night, so much so that it was a safety hazard. In addition, I had a friend who had darker tint and was forced to remove it (luckily no fine, but he was still out the money to have it installed and then re-installed at the proper tint). Lastly, the last thing I want is to give a cop an excuse to pull me over after a night on the town.

I suppose you could try going with 35 all the way around, and yes it is darker if you have darker interior. Good luck if you decide to risk it!

 

i have an appointment for a window tint and i have decided to do it with auto trim in town (50/35) i guess with the darker interior ... the tint will look darker than normal so i'm happy with that ... plus i don't want the vehicle to look like a ghetto cruiser with all windows being dark ... since i think the vehicle is classy and luxurious ... i wanna keep it that way ...

we gotta get together sometime and check out each other's ride ... i don't see too many infinitis in town ... but i beleive there's 3 counting mine of the same year/model/color in town ... i'm mad now cause they just started to appear after i got mine ... whatever ...

also, i'm thinking about having auto trim to a whole front wrap and rocker panels for under 800 ... i already notice a few chips on the front bumber and that really got to me ...

i have WI (cause i'm from Milw) but since i now reside out of state (ri) i did 35% all around. I would have gone darker, but i drive home from time to time (while stateside).
