Well, I only did the rears in Falkens and they were 270ish installed-remember those are 20 though! Check tireseasy.com-I haven't found anyone that is cheaper than them. You definitely need camber kits for your rears and fronts based on how low you are.Originally Posted by a.datthang.n

I was actually pretty impressed at how fast you were too! Do you have a six speed and/or engine mods? There were sections when I think you were actually pulling in on me from behind on WOT. It's nice to lead though because you don't have to worry about the car in front of you braking and stuff.
imma put an end to the whole dilema on TIRES...
Called the company inquring about my rims...so thought I'd ask about tires!! Falken FK452's have the exxxxact same specs as KDW's. They said KDW's are mostly put on american cars because they "look bulkier", and the tread patter is different, but every single test and rating of materials used in the tires is the EXACT SAME! Price difference is 1056 for 4 KDdubs compared to just udner 650 of FK452's.

TVang- to your comment about kids and a family, I'll agree with Janik again. The control issue is there, and you have to know your car. If you're going on the opposit side of the road JUST TO MAKE THE TURN, then there's no way in he// you should be going as fast as you are. 95% of the time we were on our side, not to mention when I cut over the line @ all it was when i could see a good half mile down the road.
a.datthang.n - are you the Red G on Tanabe's? If so I still can't believe those are only springs...did you purchase it that way? If so you may want to confirm that the springs aren't cut as well. I've never seen springs actually cause the care to TUCK? Definitely get a camber kit though, i noticed on 52 that you camber is wayyyy off.
As for tires, the stickest tires I've personally experienced would be BF Goodrich G-FORCE KDW tires. My roomate had them on his car...and they were so sticky he tried to do a burnout (frontwheel) and BURNED OUT HIS CLUTCH because it wouldn't handle pushin the car!!!! I need to figure out which tires i want like..riiight now...hmmm;-)

I'm SURE GLAD i got different tires before iw ent on this cruise or there's no way i would have trusted going nearly as fast as we did. I would say Janik 'n me were averaging about 70-80 even through some of the tightest of turns.TVang- to your comment about kids and a family, I'll agree with Janik again. Well, I was referring to crossing lanes after I had looked at the TL in the ditch pictures. I think about weird sh*t like that... No doubt it's all about control, but to a certain extent "testing new driving tactics" should purely be left out of a cruise.

Yeah, I noticed that at the scene and it kind of pissed me off to see that he was that far over in the other lane especially coming out of a turn. I never crossed the line unless I could see clearly for a noticeable distance that there were no cars coming and this was on mild apexes and not sharp corners.Originally Posted by TVang

^i do think he under steered and thats how he crossed (FWD ftl...) because whenever i looked back, he was always on the correct side, even going around corners.

He definitely did not understeer on this turn. His car was facing the direction we were coming from and if you look at the skid marks, his rear swung around. A shift in momentum and speed can put any car sideways and when it's a fwd, you KNOW that he had too much of either one or both to be in the position he was. If he loss control while understeering, he would have been in the ditch on the other side of the road.Originally Posted by Wannabe6MT

My best guess is that he gassed it too soon going into that turn and the momentum of the turn caused his rear to slide.

I bet he hit sand or something. That is my guess.

First off, I think that driving a FWD is fairly unpredictable around corners especially if you're inexperienced with twisties like the ones we were on! I do agree with Peng that he PROBABLY didn't understeered or he would've been on the other side of the road. Which leaves two options. Either he WAS trying to drift like Kyle said which would mean that he didn't really think that decision through (two cars following him around corners at fairly high speed and there is a big chance that he would cause those cars to go out of control/hit him if he got out of control since he's in the front!). Or he was just SOO excited that he wanted to go faster and push his car more and more until that happened. Which I do agree with everyone that this should've been left for a different day but no one learns for free! I think we shouldn’t over analyze this because unless we were in the car at the time, we really can't be a fair judge! I know that everyone is really glad that no one/car gotten hurt cuz that would have ruined everything, and I think this incident shouldn't only be a lesson for him but for all of us. I know that I'll be keeping it in mind on future cruises and make sure that I’m comfortable with every turn I take (and hopefully I didn’t just jinks myself!!!). Thats all
