08 G35xS Delivered Today

I took delivery today of an 08 G35xS, BS/G Prem, Nav, Tech, Spoiler, SG. Everything went smooth, no leg pulling or hidden surprises. This had to be the least painful new car buying experiance I've had. The car was parked in front waiting for me when I arrived. Out the door in under 2 hours.

My son and I drove it home with all the tape and plastic still on, getting plenty of extra looks from folks. With him helping we worked through the interior today and will tackle the exterior tomorrow. A little cold for washing but once that is done the garage is actually not too bad. Outside temps are upper 30's, low 40's. Looks like washing in the rain tomorrow.

I have an appointment for tint and clear bra installation at a local shop on Thursday. It's going to be hard but I'm trying not to drive it until then.

Heres a few pics of just before we began cleaning it up and one after we got the worst of it. I'll post more once I finish the detail.

I believe he wanted to spare the new car from the buffer clad hands of the dealer prep jungle.

A couple of questions:

How was the ride and feel - in particular, compared to a regular X and a RWD sport?

Are the wheels basically the standard sport wheels on the RWD sport?

I did request that they not detail it as I wanted to save that fun for me.

I took both 6MT and the X for a test drive back to back them about 6 weeks ago. The ride to me felt much more like the RWD sport than the standard X to me.

Standard 18" sport wheels with A1-A A/S

Thumbs up

Looking good. Man, why didn't they offer the xS last year? It definitely would have been tempting, but I have 0 complaints about my S .

Welcome and congrats. I have spoiler envy so I am going to have to get one installed. Makes such a difference on the rear end!

Congrats on the new ride. The xS looks so sweet - perfect for NW driving in style too. Where are you going to get your tint? I'm looking locally as well, but haven't heard about too many reputable shops yet. Maybe they'll cut us a deal on two cars?

I am still torn over the spoiler... it does add a more aggressive, sportier look to it in a "in your face" sort of way. I do think the naked rear end has a clean, understated look about it that is very appealing to me. Without was my first choice. However the car has everything else that I wanted, I just couldn't turn it down over just the spoiler.... and it is growing on me

Same additions / changes as the Sport package in the RWD with a couple of exceptions: No bigger brakes, No LVSD, AS in lieu of summer performance tires.
