Bye bye Integra!
Bye bye Integra!
After many miles I've sold my 1994 Acura Integra and replaced it with a 2005 Infinity G 35. I've only ever driven manual, 4 cylinder, front drive Hondas for the past 19 years: 1983 Civic, 1992 Accord, 1994 Integra.
So the G is quite a step up!
My wife has a 2003 Maxima, which is what led me towards the G in the first place. They have a similar engine, but that's about it!
Here's the stats on my G:
2005 Auto Sedan
Silver/Black interior
Premium package C (full sized spare)
All season mats
Purchased for 21,600 with 26,500 miles.
Not sure if this is the best deal I could have got, but my Integra was not running at the time, and I needed something reliable and had only one day to purchase it.
I haven't pushed the car yet as I'm doing a mpg test. In about another 100 miles though, look out!
So far, I love this car! While I do miss my 5-speed, I'm getting more used to the tight handling of the G. The power is something else, although I've only stepped hard on the gas a few times. The luxury stuff is nice, but the handling is my favorite feature. I'm looking forward to taking up into the GA mountains and keeping up with the sport bikers (ok, maybe not)!
So far, I've wired in my Sirius, putting the radio towards the left of the steering wheel, at the lower corner of the windshield. I've got the antenna tucked and hidden rather well, but the power cord is still visible. Not sure if I'm going to get the unit that installs behind the rear seat, so I'll simply leave it as is for now.
I'm going to get the windows tinted soon, and plan on eventually putting a hitch receiver on the back of the car to carry bikes. No hurry on either though as the weather is still cool, and my wife's Maxima has a hitch. Other than than no mod plans. Well, maybe a GPS mounted where the Nav would have gone. My brakes are about 70% worn, so I may look into some upgraded pads.
I love this website! I've learned so many things about my car and will attempt to do some of the 30k service myself. I'll need to buy some ramps, a jack and jack stands first though for much of what I'd like to do.
Any other G owners with a hitch rack around Atlanta?
Chris

score another for the Nissan world... i'm sure hondas are great cars, i'm just partial to Nissan/Infiniti..
enjoy your G!
look around the regional sections and find some people in your area... there's quite a few people with G's in the ATL area, they might have some insight on where to get what you want...
