Hey there, I've been trolling these forums for a while and finally managed to pick up a Diamond Graphite 2003 today, a couple of days before I make the 1900 mile journey to Southern California.

I'm getting the car checked out by a reputable dealer tomorrow to ensure no mechanical faults exist. Is there anything I should be looking for in particular? I have 48 hours to return the car if anything is wrong, but it's been a dream of mine to own one since '02, so I'm hoping all is well!

Anyway, any typical problems or anecdotal issues would be helpful before I talk with the shop guys tomorrow. Thanks in advance!

what are some details about the car...mileage etc. how much is it? carfax?
i hope ur gettin an amazing deal since ur driving 1900 miles.
i considered doing that, driving to chicago or atlanta, but decided to spend a little more and get mine from bommarito, because I know I wont be jipped or anything. Where as if u get there, and realize the car is in crappy condition or has some mechanical errors, its 1900 miles wasted. gas isnt cheap these days

 

yeah, I know what you mean. Cars are cheaper here than they are there though. I went to Bommarito and they didn't have any in stock. I actually spent all morning there looking at new XTerras since they have a killer deal going on right now for Nissan SUVs. Our Neighbour, Mike Hahn works there and was showing us around. I ended up getting mine at Suntrup for about 17k before trade. I'm getting it checked out tomorrow at Plaza because I don't trust Suntrup for **** and I know some of the tech guys at Plaza. The car has 44k miles on it and has an absolutely spotless carfax.

i personally hate plaza, but their service dept is good, their salesman can be a** holes.
