Sports seat comfort after break in

How snug are the sport seats around the thigh area?

I test drive with sport seats and even at the widest setting they were tight in the thigh area.

The sport seats are very supportive but wanted to know if they feel comfortable after a few miles/break in

What has been the experience of Sport seat owners? ( tough to figure out in test drives , I feel feedback from sport seats is more reliable )

I have a 05 bmw 525 that I am considering to trade for a used 08 g35s or a brand new 09 G37XS auto. I like the x for wet weather and 09 is the bigger engine. The beamer is smoother and little more space but G is more fun/tossable with more high tech gadgets and lot more power

I wanted a XS before I sat in those seats. They are too tight. I opted for a X with the tire and wheel package instead.

The sport seats have metal plates on the side of the thigh bolsters. They don't really "break-in" because of these plates.

This is why I didn't get a sport - could never get comfortable w/ the seats.

However, later on, I found out that the plates are easy to remove by a car upholstery shop and once that is done, the thigh bolsters are no longer uncomfortable. A few have done this mod on the G37 forum.

I love the seats, I think they're great. I'm on the skinny side tho, so I wouldn't have as much of a problem with it.

Oh - and my mom has an '07 525i. Get the G, you're gonna LOVE driving it every day, I enjoy it so much more than driving her car. Although the G is louder, rougher, edgier - more of an enthusiast, sport sedan.

I test drove the G37Xs, and the seats were comfy after adjusting them propelry

I agress the 525 is quieter , smoother, not exciting at all but the G37XS was so much more fun and livelier to drive with more high tech stuff

Interesting info....

I'm OK with them as is, but they are adjusted out as far as they go.
I wouldn't mind having a bit more adjustment for long trips though.
Instead of removing the plates altogether, I wonder if they can be tweaked a little.

If it gets uncomfortable, squeeze them all the way in - then release completely. They feel so much better, even though they haven't moved overall because you were squished just a second ago hahha

mine have gotten better.

on the drive home from when i picked it up, i thought i had made a big mistake cuz they were too tight. but after about a week or so, i loved them.

ether they brake in or i got use to them. i think its a little of both

for reference im 6'2" 220lbs and my pants belt size is a 32-34

I personally have gotten used to mine, at first it was a little tight to me but quickly learned to love it. Now when I sit in my old civic it feels like I am on a bench. I am definetly a fan of the sport seat support and I have only owned it for a short period of time.
