New guy, G35x

Hey all,

New guy here, checking in. Just picked up an '07 G35x sedan last weekend.

Just doing some basic cleanup and maintenance (oil and transmission/transfer case/diff fluid changes) so far. Planning on some tint and possibly a SLIGHT drop for now.

Car is black/black and pretty loaded. Definitely very happy so far, came to the Infiniti from a BMW 3 series convertible. I like the G a lot better overall.

I also have a 2005 Subaru Impreza (wife's car) and a 1988 Mazda RX7, which has a turbocharged LS1 w/ a stalled 2004r, heads/cam/custom rear, etc. My play toy.

Thanks for having a great community. I look forward to getting to know you all.

-Blake

Thanks guys, here are a couple pics right when I got it home. Still working on getting it all detailed (dealership did a terrible job, shocking, I know, haha). Went ahead and changed the oil as well (was dealer maintained, but had 2200 miles on the current fill). Shockingly easy to do, I like the little trap door for the oil filter.

The dealer sticker is now gone since these pics. I'll get some better shots once the tint is on and it's properly detailed.

And a couple of the other toy, for good measure:

Should have tint on in the next day or two. I did tear apart the headlights and black out the main chrome inlay. I'm trying to keep a somewhat "OE" style, so I left the orange reflectors and turn signal bulbs.

I'm mulling about on doing the "midnight" mod to the tails (tint the chrome inside black) just to darken them up a bit. Might also have the chrome along the windows wrapped in black vinyl; if I do that, I'll also do the G37 lip spoiler in black to finish off the look.

Probably going to stay stock wheels for the near future, they're a nice look, and the 17s have enough tire to make it ride nicely. I do have a slight noise/feeling from the front, which I believe to be a wheel bearing. I'll do some more diagnostics on that this week.

Thanks for the compliments and welcomes guys.

Haha, yeah, I'm working on a twin turbo LS/FD with a friend. Shooting for >1000 RWHP on pump gas (E85).

In other news, picking up 370Z springs for the front (around a .8" drop) and I'll be trimming the spring pads on the rears. I looked at the Eibach kit for the 'X, but I don't want it to be LOW, just... less high. Haha.

Car is at tint right now. I'll be ordering up a G37 rear lip spoiler to replace the rear chrome "thing" in the next day or two also.

Yay modding!

Haha, I can never leave anything alone.

Luckily I had some pretty major pieces left from my BMW when I traded it in (took it back to stock) so I'm financing the mods with "free money" from that car.

I doubt I'll be doing anything performance related, aside from some K&N drop ins; I might fabricate an axle back system just to bring the engine note out a little bit. Beyond that, it's plenty quick enough for the daily. If I want to go fast, I'll get the other car out.

Tint + blacked out headlights. Yeah, pics suck, I need to get out of the driveway, LOL.

Also polished up the exhaust tips.
