You can, but it isn't recommended you just run it without any supporting mods on the 5AT such as a valve body upgrade or a transmission cooler.

G35 sedan w/ too much money in mods
Scary how much you know about turbos already^^

OP please do your research on FI. If you can't afford to do it right ATM save up and make sure you have enough money to deal with unexpected expenses. FI is almost never a bolt on and go mod. There are always issues here and there that pop up you have to deal with and a lot of them cost $$.

There are quite a few boosted auto's on the forum.

bigc and Silencer_0 are the only two I can think of off the bat. Both autos with vortech superchargers.

And yes, Tim, it is very scary how much I've been reading about FI set ups. I need to stay off of my350z or else I'll just get into trouble.

If there is one thing that I've read that a lot of people don't know is how bad the heat in our cars get, especially when going FI. Heat is the one of the major causes of your transmission going out, which is why so many boosted members, regardless of 5AT or 6MT, recommend you get an oil cooler for your transmission.

You can run the tuner kit no problem, but even Momentum recommends the valve body upgrade if you're 5AT. I haven't looked into what comes into the Momentum tuner kit, since I've been looking at the full kit, but I know the full kit offers an ECU reflash instead of a stand alone aftermarket ECU.

I asked Momentum this question, regarding the full kit.

I've seen that your kit offers an Uprev reflash of the OEM ECU, so do you all recommend any kind of aftermarket EMS?
And this is what Taylor@Momentum replied to me with.

We have 3 350Zs, the Mule(stock engine) uses uprev. The other two use motec m800 and the PNP Haltech.

5AT with a Vortech here. Do not go FI on a budget, I was expecting to spend $5k-6k on my build, ended up spending about $8k on everything. So always have extra money on hand. And if you want your car to last, definitely get the TransGo valve body upgrade and tranny cooler, as Son mentioned earlier.

I really don't know anything about the Momentum kit, so I can't help there.

Damn, only 8k? So you're running stock internals?

But like everyone said, if you're going to boost, don't do it on a budget. If you go cheap, you'll pay for it later. Either by selling the car or getting it back to stock or spending more money to do it right..

So you might as well do it right the first time.

Tuner kit is a no go for any. You need upgraded injectors and management solution.

Not sure how fun a supercharger is, but a turbo is the shlt. Especially that BOV sound.

I would never boost an auto again, especially the G35. it failed even when fully built, valve body, and a cooler that covered half the size of my radiator. If you do, make sure you have extra money to fix any problems that not might, but will arise. Also, you could easily need a new motor after boosting, sooner or later your stock block will probably fail. As others have said their is no such thing as FI on a budget. Expect to spend $10-15k to be up and running safely on a stock motor and auto trans.
