New G35 Driver - All the way from New Zealand

Hey all. Im Andy, a new kid on the scene from New Zealand.

I have finally managed to get my hands on a 350gt Skyline (g35). I will be taking the badges off to get rid of the Skyline identity however

Just a bit of a background spill, i have a thing for RWD Nissans. My first car was a 2001 Nissan S15 Silvia (N/A). Sadly this was written off (totalled) at the end of 2012 but i managed to buy it back and fix it back up to road standard

I then went the safe route and bought a 2000 Rs200Z Toyota Altezza (LSD, big brakes, paddle shift etc) but this has only lasted 8 months as i got bored of the Toyota unfortunately.

And now i have got my hands on the 350gt.

(Not my car but almost identical)

It is very factory spec. The windows have been professionally tinted and that is it. Which is just what i was after.
I have a MotorDyne kit lined up locally luckily enough and an intake setup.

Intended changes:

- Darken headlight inners
- 350z struts and 350z lowering springs.
- Spring mount mod
- Hopefully some genuine wheels if the budget allows
- Black roof vinyl wrap

I was hoping to get some coilovers but the price in NZ is just too much at the moment as i am saving to buy a house.

There will be more to add in my build thread.

So yeah... Hi!

Welcome from another piece of the Commonwealth, Andy!

I like that Altezza, over here they are called a Lexus IS300, great car.

You can put your build thread here:

Thanks guys. Much appreciated.

@Swivel - We have the IS200 and IS300 over the ditch too nice wee daily drivers. The 200/300 are separated by engine size. The Altezza has 2 models of 2Litres one is the 6 cylinder 1GFE and they are poos haha, i had the Beams Yamaha RS200Z with the 220hp motor and paddle shifting which was quite fun through the hills.

Thanks for the appropriate link mate!

It will be cool to see, I like to call them progress threads if they don't involve a major engine overhaul.

But that is just me.

Good luck with creating your unique G and it sounds like it will be around for the long haul.

Welcome to the family and make sure you take time to read through here quite a bit. There's a lot of info in this forum and you will find the answers to most of the questions you will have in it.

Haha yeah im with you, if it isnt being "built" it isn't a build thread, so you can go and check out my "Progress thread" here:

Yeah, after going from the S15 to the Altezza it was a funny transition. The first time i sat in the 350 it felt like a more luxurious/comfy S15. Just heavier

Thanks man. Yeah we are very lucky. Over here you can pick up a s13 CA18det for around $4000, S14/A SR20det $6000-$7000 and the S15 N/A around $9,000 - $12,000, S15 SR20det for $12,000 - $18,000.

I will keep the progress thread updated

If anyone can help me with a question about Impul ECU's please click this link:
