Red face New owner 04 Coupe

I got my 04 coupe a week ago and I love her. I am running into a few problems and I'm hoping somebody on here can help me.
I test drove her several times, just to get a feel for her and she was a smooth start up. The day I signed all of the paperwork I got in to drive her home and within 5 minutes she died. I was driving down a small hill and next thing I knew was that the accelerator didn't work, the brake hardly worked and I struggled to turn the wheel. It does that every time I drive, always within 5 min. I took my car back to the dealership and they looked at it and noticed that they needed to replace 2 sensors. I picked it up yesterday and it did it again! It does not make a noise or even sputter before that happens. The car does not even need to be moving. Sitting idling does the same thing.

I'm hoping that somebody has some recommendations for what I need to do. I'm not exactly comfortable with the idea of stalling on the side of the highway in a skirt

Have the alternator tested. I had this happen in an old car of mine, and I assumed the worst. I learned to start from the smallest possibilities and work my way up.

Skirt? Can we assume you're not a guy? lm.o

Sounds like your G is reacting as if you'd just shut the key off. That has to be somewhere in the coils/ignition, drop by Nissan and explain your situation. I've discovered their mechanics are better trained than the part exchanging at Infiniti! Red04, Welcome to Driver hope this issues is corrected soon...Gary

Find out what sensors were replaced. Typically you have 2 cam shaft sensors and 1 crankshaft sensor that ends up going bad on the G35 / 350z. I would take it to autozone and have them test the alternator and battery.

The first time I went to Autozone my battery tested as bad, so I had it replaced. My car would still die so I went back up there to test my alternator and they said it tested good. I had them plug my car in and here is the printout

Every single time it dies when I'm driving this pops up

Find out what sensors were replaced and demand OEM sensors and not aftermarket. Check your brake fluid level.

P0345 Camshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit (Bank 2)
P0345 = bad driver side cam position sensor (left hand side)

You were right, it was both camshaft sensors. The place I got my car claimed they had replaced them, but obviously not. I ended up taking it to a reputable shop pretty close. Total cost was around $280, I don't know if that was average or what.
Since they had my car already there I asked if they wouldn't mind looking at my door locks. I have to manually lock and unlock, but I can push the lock button on my fob and it will beep but that's it. I can open the trunk, roll windows down and so on. When they looked at my locks they said to fix them it will be over $700. Is that about right?

Do not spend $700. It can be several things, but I am pretty sure it's your door lock actuator(s). I suggest you do a lot more research, look up the cost and do it yourself. At the very least, ask around other shops to find out what they'd charge.

I replaced my friend's door lock actuators, both driver and passenger sides, on her RSX. The symptoms are the same.

Also, why haven't you returned that car yet? All these problems so soon... you'd think your state's lemon law would force them to take it back. But I am talking out of my behind. I don't know what lemon laws even say. That's something more for you to research.
