About a month ago i was driving on the highway and my car jolted so bad(it felt like as if the car was trying to shift for me) i drive an automatic! But anyways i didnt pay much attention to it until i actually parked and then got back in the car to leave. I turned it on, drove for about 10mins and then my slip button came on along with vdc off(couldnt turn it back on, clicking the button wasnt working) and my SES came on as well! By the time i had gotten home the lights turned off by themself and the next day they were gone. I wasnt until 5days after that the car decided to turn off in the middle of the road. I was going about 25mph when my car wouldnt accelerate anymore, steering wheel locked and all the lights on my dashboard came on. I had to turn it off for a minute n then drove it to the nearest mechanic. They did the diagnostic test(they got a bunch of codes) including the p0340 and one about my evap box (dont remember the code number) i had the mechanic replace my camshaft censor bank 1(he sold me a used one that he claimed was in perfect condition). I got my car back and its been about 3-4weeks since that happened.
I was on my way to work today when i felt that kick again, my lights did not come on until later this morning so i stopped by advance auto and the guy gave me the same exact code p0340!
I didnt mention before but the mechanic did a smoke test and found that my evap box was leaking(i didnt get that fixed because im planning on selling the car soon and to my knowledge a leak in the evap box is not a big deal(except when it comes to mother nature)). Did anyone ever have the same problem? Could it be my evap box trigerring those sensors??
I need answers pleasee!!! (:

Thnx!
I've had my g(05) about 3 years but am new to this forum and coincidentally fixed this about 4 months ago. What I was told was if one was going bad to replace both cam sensors and the crank sensor as a set but to use only Hitachi or Denso. Bought all 3 online for less than $150 shipped. If a mechanic wastes a lot of time it takes about an 1/1/2 to do it in the driveway with pretty simple tools.

I did end up replacing both of them because a couple of days after replacing bank 1 the lights decided to turn back on again. The issue i had was fixed though, thank god. Now im dealing with new ones! Lol
