Hey everyone, new here. Just wanting to say hi to you guys. I'm not new to forums nor to Nissan's in general although this is my first Infiniti. I've had two real Nissan's before Renault bought them out. A 1990 300zxTT which was my first car ever. Saved up my money all during my senior yr of HS working at Jiffy Lube for that thing. Probably not the best car for an 18yr old. A TT 5spd manual sports car, plus this was around the time the Fast and Furious was really popular. I believe the 2nd one just came out, so everyone and their mother was street racing, at least where I'm from in Dallas, TX. Done a lot of dumb things in that car, beat it up pretty bad. Wish I had one now at my mature age. I've also owned a bad *** sweet custom 3rd Gen 94 Maxima. It had the fwd NA version of the 300zx the VG30DE with a front LSD diff. I lowered it, had full custom exhaust, Cai, the whole nine. Was pretty nice and unique. Had pretty decent speed to it too as it was also a 5 speed manual. I've also owned a 2010 Altima 2.5 which was just a 4 banger. And my lastIlast Nissan that I'm currently trying to sell is an 03 Pathfinder. But I've also had a 95 BMW M3 and an 02 SS Camaro which was probably my fastest car I've ever owned. Was way faster than the 300zx I had only because the LS1 in that Camaro had a cam, headers, Borla exhaust, and ECU tune. It probably was around 380hp maybe more, I never had it Dyno'd. The guy I bought it from did all of the mods. I know they were like 330ish stock. Well the newer Camaro RS have like 330hp and I ate those for breakfast and I only got on it one time being stupid racing a Pontiac G8 and I went to 140mph like it was nothing. I had to ease off as I dusted him, it still felt like it had plenty more in it. So it could of been around the 400hp mark. It did have a **** load of torque which is why I love those LS engines. But I have a soft spot for Nissan's, there's just something about them. I'm either going to save up and buy my friends father's 300zxTT that is mapped and blueprinted, upgraded turbos, full exhaust, Cai, ECU tuned, stage 3 clutch, it has over 700hp at the wheels! It's just sitting wasting away in the garage waiting to be woken up again. He also has an 05 G35 Coupe with an Eaton Supercharger on it. He was one of the first to do that as he pretty much bought it brand new off the lot and threw that supercharger on it. That's when I fell in love with the G, that was a fast car as well. It definitely would of whooped my old SS. Think he said it had like 430hp when he last Dyno'd it. Not sure what all he had done to it. I'm not sure if he even has it, he'll never get rid of the Z though. But yeah I'd like a real fast car one of these days. Either another 300zxTT like I said or maybe get a NA and throw a LS3 in it. Or hell I really have my eye on one of those Q50s. That'd be atleast 5 yrs in the future, give me plenty of time to save and for their value to drop a little. Those are really nice, hopefully my G will last another 5yrs. I had my eye on a coupe but couldn't find one that wasn't riced out and beat all to hell. Or they were way overpriced. I ended up settling on this 04 G35X that has 200k on the body. He claimed it he had an used engine with 120k put in it. I just took his word on it as it sounded quiet. There's no ticking from sticking lifters, no excessive valve noises, no leaks and it drives great. I paid 2400 for it, seemed like a decent price to me. Here is what it looks like.
Congrats on the X, sounds like you've had a diverse vehicle history!
300ZX TT are getting harder and harder to find, at least in clean or near-stock trim. My mom had a '09 G8 GT. She sold it to Carmax and bought a Hyundai . I've on and off been trying to find a G8 for myself, but they seem to have fallen the same fate at the z32's, thus I've begun to look at Q50's.
My buddy had a '12 Camaro rs a few years ago. Big & heavy car for a V6 IMO. 3.6 motor made great horsepower, but not a lot of torque. My G35's smashed it off of the line, but he'd pull me until we got into the canyons/twisties. All the sudden it started eating oil and threw a rod. It was at least 3 quarts low on oil when it lunched
