howdy all, i am now the proud owner of a RWD G35, 179,XXX miles. as the title states, ive never owned a G, moreso, any nissan ever! i'll start with the basics, the car is an 04 in Desert Platinum Metallic, black interior, lowered on Tein springs surrounding KYB struts. some sweet Hotchkis stay-flat-bois and moog sway bar end links. im not sure which brand the exhaust is, but it doesnt have a resonator and it is louder than the dryer running with pocket change in it while you are trying to sleep. im thinking its that loud due in part to the rather large rust hole in the piping at the axle-back flange. going to have that patched up and maybe put a cherry bomb somewhere in there... or two... Automatic transmission, and it doesnt feel too bad. it would feel better with 6 gears, flywheel and a 3rd pedal; i am not complaining though, i was given the car by a friend when i really needed it the most. it needs some work, but i do that. there is some nasty valve-tick that is loud enough to hear inside the car with the windows up. it has gotten worse, but i have a couple cylinder heads to machine and rebuild. i would like some mild, or slightly-less-than-mild cams in it, just thinking i could spend $1,500 better elsewhere. if anyone has a slightly used aftermarket valvetrain they would sell, lets discuss it! anyway thats enough i suppose. glad to join the community, im in southern california! north county specifically.
