G35 Fam, I need help passing inspection (seat issue)

I’ve had my awesome ride for almost two years. 03 g35 sedan with power seats. The drivers seat doesn’t go back and forth, but it goes up/down/reclines. When I hit the button, it clicks but it doesn’t move. I’ve had it checked 3 times and from what I gather, it’s the MOTOR, plus my seat track may need to be replaced. I’m not about to spend over a K on a track. I drive this baby every day/no issues, but I cannot pass inspection unless this seat is working.
today, a shop recommended that I go to another interior shop, but I REALLY Want to know your thoughts on this. I’m not a mechanic, but my goal is to swap the motor. Let me know fam!

This is fairly common on these cars, my coupe had issues with seats not going up/down. I bought a motor, gears etc. and it wasn't any of that.
The most common issue is the switch, there is carbon buildup on the ball bearing in the switches. You can take the switches apart and clean them with some rubbing alcohol.

This video shows how to get the switches out, its not hard. You basically unbolt the chair, disconnect the switch, and unscrew it from the side of the seat. You can see all the carbon buildup on the switches in the video:

Disconnect the harness from the motor and use a digital multimeter to see if it's getting power. Probably just the seat motor burned up, it's somewhat common.

Should be +12vdc one direction and -12vdc the other direction.

U won’t believe this (it’s working)

Fam!! After two years of owning this car, and the previous owner couldn’t even figure out y the seat wasn’t working….it’s finally moving back and forth. Wtf! Yo, so I had a couple more ppl look at it, they told me the same thing. Yesterday, I had a friend of a friend look at it. This man stuck his hand under the seat without dismantling anything, *tap tap tap* starting touching stuff then the seat started to move. Now the switch works perfectly fine. Maybe the G Gods are blessing me but my problem is now solved.
