2006 G35 Coupe axle clicking question
2006 G35 Coupe axle clicking question
Hey all, new member here, not too long ago I purchased a 2006 Infiniti G35 Coupe 6MT that's a bit of a fixer-upper, and have recently began hearing a pinging noise coming from the rear passenger wheel area. After extensive googling I'm pretty sure it's the fairly common axle clicking issue that is usually fixed with the grease trick. I'm just a tad unsure because the sound I hear seems more like a high pitched pinging than the standard clicking I've heard in most of the troubleshooting videos I've watched. So I was wondering if someone could listen to this clip I uploaded on YouTube and confirm if that is the likely culprit or not.
It almost always happens as soon as you begin accelerating from a stop, either forward or reverse. Can also sometimes hear it going over bumps, but not as often, or when driving with the gas pedal slightly depressed and then suddenly letting it go and right at the moment the car slightly jerks a bit it'll make the noise, and again when you reapply the gas, so pretty much any sudden jerkiness of the car when in gear. Thanks in advance
Here's the clip:

Update: forgot to add the 2nd clip. This one is with my phone underneath the car right next to the wheel. This one sounds a bit more like clicking but it still has that slightly higher pitch. My initial thought when I started hearing the noise was wheel bearing, but I don't get any vibrations at high speeds, it feels pretty solid
