There has been a bit of commotion about whether this event is strictly limited to Z/G's, so here's the official take.....

This is primarily a G/Z event. A totally open event has a very different feel. I know that if I opened the flood gates and we got a boatload of Civics and WRX's to sign up, it would be a different and less appealing scene to many.

However......I don't want to deny some real driving enthusiast who is really excited at the opportunity to hang, just because they own a different car.

The solution is to take the middle ground with the "Private Club" approach. Just as a non-member wouldn't be able to go on his or her own to the club, but they could go with a member, we'll do the same with the run.

So...if you are a G/Z owner and you have a couple of non Z/G friends who want to bring their rides along with you, that's fine. On the first run, a buddy of mine came along in his Audi S4. But, I don't want to publicly just open the event to anyone.

I can't speak for Lord that that other RI guy but I figure to leave at 0645am on the dot. No being puerto rican last minute **** lol. I will be on time for once and my ETA will be 0830. Juan, I'll meet up with you at exit 10, but I ain't pulling over and waiting in the fvckin breakdown lane on the highway!! are you crazY!? nevermind...I know the answer to that. lol

Looks like we're gearing up for a good sized event. Some final event details:

Meeting Point: FRIENDLY'S restaurant on Route 10, Westfield, MA. Exit 3 off the Mass Pike (I-90). Straight after the tolls is a traffic light. Go STRAIGHT at the light, then turn left into the Friendly's parking lot. You can see the Friendly's dead ahead from the toll booth.

Meeting time: Any time you like but we will depart PROMPTLY at 8:45am. Come early if you want to have breakfast at Friendly's before we head out.

For those wanting to come up the night before, you can try one of these places to stay:

Hampton Inn, Riverdale Road (Route 5), West Springfield 413-732-1300
Days Inn, 437 Riverdale Road, West Springfield 413-785-5365

Both these places are on Route 5 (aka Riverdale Road) off Exit 13 South on I-91, minutes from the Mass Pike (I-90). The Mass Pike is Exit 14 off I-91. Once on the Mass Pike WESTBOUND, you are about 5-7 minutes from Exit 3. Do not miss exit 3 if you are going westbound on the Mass Pike. The next exit is 30 miles down!!!!!

The final weather check for the event will be on FRIDAY, SEPT 22 on weather.com. If it looks like RAIN or MORNING SHOWERS, we will cancel, and I will post this on FRIDAY NIGHT. Afternoon rain isn't a problem and we'll still go.



We will stop several times along the way for people to regroup and take breaks. The first segment of the run (about 12 miles) is a little slow and boring and is really only to get us into the hill country, so bear with us.

There will be a stop for gas at this point.

Prepare yourself after that for 100 miles of twists, turn, sweepers, switchbacks, dips, drops, straights. The last 5 miles of the run will make you feel like you are driving your car on a rollercoaster.

Finally.....no crazy driving please. We all want to return to do this another day. We will keep a brisk, but in-control pace. The roads are fun, but we are not on a race track. You will also see lots of cows.

Stratton mountain resort will have some bars, restaurants, shops etc. If you have a significant other, it will be a nice time for them too, if they can deal with the occasional bursts of speed!!!

ill be in florida until the night of the 23rd..so ill keep looking of forums to see whats going on..but as of now i got a train of 10+ cars going...so if anyone is comign from the northshore or mass..let me know, you can join in on the train

 

I'll keep this in mind. It would suck to have to cancel, but believe me, some of the roads we will be on can be dangerous in wet weather. I'm not planning on cancelling even if it says like "showers", only if it is definite RAIN, and that too, in the morning.
