BOY... this is ramping up to be a hell of a time! cant wait

 

We have several carvans leaving from several different points across NY, CT, and MA. If you would like to join one, please check out the thread of the same title on my350z.com. I am leading a caravan leaving from Exit 10 on I-91 leaving promptly at 7 am. We will be meeting another group at exit 21, leaving promptly at 7:30 am. Promptly mean promptly -- we all have to be in MA in time. PM me for more details on this caravan, or read the thread on my350z, around page 4, for the other meeting spots.

This is your run, but I'd like to volunteer to head up the Caravan heading West from Boston. Having said that...

A few of us already have definite plans to rendevous at the Westboro Plaza on the Mass Pike. This Plaza is a few miles after Exit 14 /Framingham on the Mass Pike (Rte 90) Westbound.

PM me if you want to meet up - I'll definitely be there at 7AM SHARP meeting up with a couple of others already. We'd love it if others wanted to join us (the more the merrier!) PM me and we can exchange cell phone numbers and discuss details.

 

Athens that won't effect me. I am getting on I-90 at Exit 4 and getting off at Exit 3. Wasn't sure if you were referring to me, but I cleared it up just in case.

And if you would like to head up that Caravan, go right ahead.

 

If you've been looking at the weather forecast for the upcoming weekend, you know it isn't exactly going to be a bright and sunny day. However, let's not get paranoid remembering the horror story of the weather at the Cape Meet last May. There is 40% (not 100%), CHANCE (not definite) of SHOWERS (not heavy rain). In any case, this shouldn't deter you all from coming one bit.

As I said previously, this is a very different event from a "meet" where people come up, park their cars, and socialize or BBQ outside. This event is a DRIVING ACTIVITY, and as such, we will be in our cars 90% of the time. If the roads are a little damp from time to time, no big deal. Sure we may not be able to let it rip like on dry roads, but it will still be plenty of fun. Some of you may also be surprised how well the tree-studded mountain roads are protected from the few sprinkles that might be present.

Anyway, the bottom line is that this is in no way shaping up to be anything even remotely resembling a major rain event, so let's not get all paranoid/bummed out. Everything is still most definitely on.

 

check!!! i'm there dude. i don't know how many people will be coming from SoEast NE I will be jumpin on i-195west to i-95north at 6am sharpe. the selct few few from this region on this forum that wanna meet me before heading up to i-90 let me know.
If not.....well i guess i'll be rollin dolo to the plaza on I-90

 

BETTER WEATHER NOW PREDICTED!!!!

It looked a little worrisome, but the latest update for the region is calling for temps in the 60's/70's with a mix of clouds and some sun. There is a 40% chance of afternoon thundershowers, but we should be at our destination by then.

We are officially on!!!!!

 

WESTERN MASS WEATHER UPDATE:

8pm Saturday: No rain since 8am. Roads dry. Sun has been popping out from time to time during the day. You can see stars in some places now. Keep your fingers crossed. We basically only need a 4-5 hour rain-free window to do the run tomorrow.

What a great time. I think a total of 19 showed up. What happened to the rest of you BUMS who didn't show up?!?!? Sorry to the Pathfinder and Mike in his Z who got lost on the windy mountain roads not even 45 mins into the ride, the rest of us were sad about that! We waited for ya but you didn't appear after 15 mins.... The 4th picture is the road that we commandeered as we waited. Next time drive faster!!!
Here are some pics from the run. The weather held out great on our way to Stratton Mtn, VT. It did rain on the way home a bit. But it was a great time and no one was left bloody in a raveen or at the bottom of a cliff! YAY!

this meet was so fucing nasty...ave speed 70 mph and scretches up to 100 mph on the baddest roads that i ever been on in my life so S tunry and windy nice hard driving...and what a veiw of teh mountains and leaves...just great..we should have been in a commerical the way people looked at us and the great form we had thru the S turns///great safe driving by all too...well i just wanted to thank every1 who showed...i had a blast...and also want to say that was the sweetests road that i ever been on and we pwned them...dam i love the pace =0)
