NORTHEAST MOUNTAIN RUN 2

The first event was just such a blast that everyone decided we HAVE TO do this again. The date is set for Sunday September 24, 2006. This is early enough to ensure above freezing early morning temps in the mountains and avoiding the leaf peeping (aka slow moving) crowd, but late enough to see some decent fall colors in the Vermont mountains.

The basic route will be the similar as the first event we held on July 15th of this year, although I'll try to map out some even more entertaining roads. We will start out in Southwestern MA, and head north into Southern Vermont over 100+ miles of unrelenting twisties.

The initial meeting point will be the same as the first event at FRIENDLY's restaurant immediately ahead after the toll both off MASS PIKE exit 3.

Meeting time 8:15-8:45am on Sunday, September 24th

Drive time to starting point is about 80 min from downtown Boston, 40 min from Hartford, CT.

I just scheduled vacation for the week prior, but maybe I will try to rearrange so I can have Monday off. If I can swing that, I would like to take that cruise. Where would be a good place to stay over on Saturday and Sunday?

 

I'll put you in for the drive. There are plenty of places to stay either Saturday or Sunday night. You won't have to worry about that whatsoever. We will reach our final destination of Stratton, VT by about noontime, and we'll eat, hang out and leave around 2:30-3:00pm. You should be able to get back to the connecticut shore in about 3.5-4 hours after that, heading straight down I-91, if this helps in your planning. I'll post a list of places to stay in early September. You should have a better idea by then if you are really comingIf you want to do a search before that, look for places in West Springfield, MA or Westfield, MA. (Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Quality Inn, etc)

I'll post exact details over the next few weeks. Friendly's is on Route 10 in Westfield, MA, DIRECTLY AHEAD at the exit toll at EXIT 3 on I-90 (mass pike)
