After year and a half of having 20% tints, I got pulled over this morning in brooklyn. The cop just checked my window with a meter and it came out 19%. I haven't gotten any tickets lately so I'm not sure I'm reading it correctly. I got one yellow and one white copy, which on the back says all other violations $40 + $50 surcharge. Is that how much I should pay? I thought they usually give one ticket for each window. He did say it's a nice car, and I was very respectful, so maybe he went easy on me. I really don't want to remove tints, cause on IP it's a must. Well anybody that paid a tint ticket recently chime in. Thanks.

Tint are no longer fix its in NY
only defective headlight/taillights/signals
tints now either must be paid or fought in court (which 99% end up paying anyway)

I received a tint ticket in Queens over a year ago for 35% at a tint checkpoint (yes they do exist). Anyway I was so pissed off b/c the cop made me pull over a tall curb resulting in damage to one of my splash guards, so I decided to fight it. Went to traffic hearing (after 2 postponements)...cop was a no-show and the judge dismissed it. Something to consider.

^i think most cops never show up to court.. they're just sitting in their cruiser eating donuts and looking for more ppl with tints to bust
