Unhappy Good Repair Shop in Philly?

I'm sore today, but Temple Hospital found nothing seriously wrong with me.

Autocare USA took the car, but I know nothing about them other than what they told me in a dazed state. Anybody ever heard of them?

Not sure. But it looks like the other driver is at fault judging by where you hit them. Let me guess, they turned right in front of you trying to beat that light, or they blew that redlight.

Yeah. That was me. Broad & Ontario in front of Temple U hospital. Going south, the guy turned left onto Ontario while I was heading north on broad and I had a green light. I was surprised that the G dove under his car like it did.

I attached pics of the car that I took yesterday at the shop. I'm still very sore.

Where can I find the Temple Hostpital Daily news photo? I would like to have it for my memory book...

I don't know a place in Philly, but when my 04 G35 Coupe needed repaired, I took it to West Chester, PA to a place called Brandywine Coachworks. They did an excellent job and are great to deal with.

http://www.brandywinecoachworks.com/

Yea it was a hike out there (76 West, 202 South, right past the Infiniti of West Chester dealership), take to next light on 202 after passing the exit for the dealership and make a right and they up a quarter mile up the road on the right. I took two different cars there.

I can see if the place where I work still has a copy of the paper. I'll let you know.

That is the only place i would take my car, they do the best work in the area by far.

What about the place near the route 3 and 252 intersection? There use to be a *Videon Chrysler dealership near by. The shop is very close to the intersection. It has a large horse outside; I can’t remember the name. I heard they were the best and wholesalers hated to get cars from them because they had problems identifying where the damage was located. Does anyone know the name of that shop?

There is another good body shop in Wayne across from blockbuster. I believe they are main line coachworks.

Thanks for the info

I ended up going with Collex in Fourtown. They're close to my house (local shop), there is an Enterprise down the street, and my insurance company has them on the "preferred vendor" list, which quickens the process by which they assess the damage and approve of the work.

I should get word back from the shop today if they think the G can be repaired or if it is totaled. As you can see from the pics, the front brace on the car is pushed all the way against the engine and the passenger side tire. There may be too much damage to the car to be repaired...

In the mean time, I'm driving like an old lady. I expected the physical pain from the crash, but not the psychological trauma.

I received word back from the shop on Monday that the car is not totaled, but there is $17k+ in damages.

I ran through a quick list with the shop of the items that would need to be replaced. When we discussed the front passenger-side tire (as the front support on the car had gouged the tire), he noted that he could only replace the damaged tire. The problem is, the tires will need to be replaced in roughly a year, and to have a difference in tread depth that dramatic is not safe for the driver.

Has anybody ever run into this sort of problem before with tires?

Ouch! Well one thing you can do is replace the other front tire and you should be fine. You don't have to replace all 4 tires at the same time, just replace both tires on the same axle.

That's my point. While I was planning to replace both front tires in roughly a year, the guy at the shop tells me that I have to buy the left front tire, as the ins company will only pay for the right front tire.
