Boston.....Help me please

Hey. I have a buddy coming in from out of town and was looking for help from you guys. I live in RI so I wouldn't do that to him, but don't really know the hot spots in B-town. I haven't book his hotel yet until I here from a few people. He'll be coming in on a Tuesday afternoon and leave again on Thursday. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Lansdowne street next to Fenway is full of bars/clubs.

Theatre district next to Chinatown is great too, and there's a Double Tree hotel on Tremont St right next to all of the clubs. He can also check out the Blue Man Group, which is on Charles St, about a 5 minute walk from that hotel.

Then there's also the financial district, which is full of bars.

Allston/Brighton is also full of bars.

What type of bar/club/music does he prefer?

Do you need any restaurant recommendations?

Steak - Capital Grille (Newbury St)
Sushi - Fugakyu (Brookline) or Suishaya (Chinatown)
Chinese - Chau Chow City (Chinatown)
French - La La Rokh (Beacon Hill)
Indian - Kashmir (Newbury St)
Italian - Hanover St in the North End...every restaurant is good, just pick one
German - Jacob B. Wirth's, Stuart St, Chinatown (authentic German food, tons of different beers on tap)

Late night eats after 2PM - Chau Chow City (Chinese), Apollo (Korean and Japanese), Imperial Seafood (Chinese) All of these are in Chinatown - everyone pours into these places when the bars and clubs let out

Sunset Grille - Great all around bar and grill in Allston, always crowded, food is awesome, over 500 different beers available - Right next door is Big City, where you can shoot pool

White Horse Tavern in Allston is another nice bar, loungey atmosphere, no dance floor, happy hour until 7PM.

While he's in Massachusetts, you should visit Harvard Sq in Cambridge, home of Harvard University. There are a tons of bars and restaurants in that area, and it's got a very diverse crowd. Check out Redline on JFK St.

Use Expedia to look for Hotels in Boston. Get one IN Boston, everything is walkable or accessible via cab or public transportation.

My additions

Steak - Capital Grille *****Morton's or Abe and Louie's on Boylston St. in Copley
Sushi - Fugakyu (Brookline) or Suishaya (Chinatown)*****Apollo or Ginza on Beacon, not the Ginza in Chinatown (Fugakyu is crazy expensive and not all that great)
Chinese - Chau Chow City (Chinatown) *****Don't forget dim sum
French - La La Rokh (Beacon Hill) *****Restaurant at the Collonade on Huntingon Ave across from the Cheesecake Factory
Vietnamese - Pho Pasteur in Brighton or Pho Ha in Chinatown
Thai - Brown Sugar on Comm Ave next to BU

bars? clubs? lounges

as for clubs: Rumor, Area, Underbar, Avalon
Lounges: Mantra, Gypsy bar, Saint, 33

i know the owners and all the big promoters so if you are going to any of these places i can help you out.

Yeah, he's going to need help he wants to get into 33. They intentionally keep a line outside at least 30 people deep. It's ridiculous. I usually just give up after standing in line for 20 mins with no movement, and walk a few blocks to Saint instead.

last time I was there (a year ago) a rat ran by my feet...let's just say we didn't finish our meal

ever since, I either go to Pho Ha, but I prefer Pho Pasteur (Le) in Brighton. I noticed the name change last week, but completely forgot.
