I just babied it until I got my first oil change. I figured it wouldnt hurt to be patient and wait a little longer to start pushing it.

I think the "official" break in period is 1200 miles.

not over 50 mph? wow, been over 90 and I'm ~900 miles.

I haven't gone over 4k rpm, and almost never over 3k though.

The manual just says not to go over 4k rpm. I stuck to it except for a few times, couldn't resist.

Re: When does the Break-In Period end?

Try under 4k rpm for first 400mi, under 5k for next 400, under 6k for next 400. After that, clean oil and the redline. I think it's more important not to "bog down" your engine with too low of an rpm during break-in assuming, of course, you're not hammering it all the time.

Great, thank you very much...this helps!!! I know when I get the car...I really won't want to "read" the manual prior to driving the car...hehe
