Need advice now about driving in light snow...

I am driving up to Rochester, NY tonight and there's supposed to be flurries and light snow...not sure if it'll stick on the ground, but do you think I will be able to survive driving on that with just my stock summer tires?

Please give me an honest opinion...I know it's not the best situation, but if I can and it's safe then I'll do it.

I'm in the northwest, we get snow every winter... just drive cautiously and make sure to keep VDC on

Alright, so you have driven in slush before in high 20 degree temps. That is more reassuring.

Hahahaha, I remember before having a car with VDC and ABS, the rule of no clutch and brake at the same time. I used to always have spin-outs in my civic till my step-dad told me the rule. Better to stall out than brake while out of gear.

Ahhh, the good ole days.

I've noticed shifting below 2k rpms is less jerky as well. I get enough torque around 1200rpm to get the car going. This would probably help in the snow a little.

Drive slowly and don't make any sudden stops/turns/speeding if you don't need to. I took the G out from the bodyshop last year in sleet with summer tires lol..

Um, I turn off the TCS. With it on, if your tires spin in the slighest, it will bog the car and you can get stuck. Just pretend you are the TCS and go really easy on the gas. Launch in 2nd gear so you have less TQ and HP sitting there at 1,000 RPM.

However, attempting this on summer tires? Have fun.
