Passport Infiniti, VA

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up to the service guys at Passport in Alexandria, especially Chris Ressler and Jeff Tanner. The people there are very friendly, accommodating, and really want to help you out. I actually live very close to a different Infiniti dealership, but travel the extra distance to get my car serviced at Passport. If you're looking for a place to service your G in the DC area, I wholeheartly recommend them.

Re: Passport Infiniti, VA

Thanks guys, we appreciate the comments and will continue working to honor the friends we've made.

WE ARE MOD FRIENDLY, I wouldn't risk going elsewhere in the area and having dealer notes attached to your VIN permanently for all Infiniti personell to review and consider. Once they're typed into Infinitinet warnings will follow your car for life, regardless of which dealer you go to. BEWARE!

Hey Chris,
this is the other Chris. I met you at the Fed Ex thing last weekend. Just wondering how I'd go about making an appoitment at Passport to get my Window checked out. It's got that annoying grease streak problem. Oh yeah, also got a wierd rattling sound when I open the sunroof.
Thanks!

Re: Passport Infiniti, VA

Got my first oil change done at Passport a few days ago. Didn't meet Chris or any of the folks. However I was helped by a very beautiful woman working at the Service Dept. The oil change was done quick and I picked up a couple of OEM filters for when I start doing my own oil changes. Everywhere I went, I kept getting these mints whenever I started to give money to these people at Passport. I'm not a junkfood guy so I passed them to the beautiful woman as I left.

I'm not aware of any of the TSBs that directly apply to my car, but my rearview mirror does shake when I play the music loud. Then again I got a sub in the trunk. Wonder if that shake can be improved. Other than that I get a slight rattle on the door panels when I turn up the music and the bass plays at certain frequencies. Probably hitting the resonance frequency for that panel. Wonder if this is something the dealership would handle. I don't have a grease streak on my window, but a flyer went into my door a month ago which I am really pissed off about. It will prolly rot in there, but I heard getting into the door to get the flyer is a pain in da ***.

In conclusion, a positive experience at Passport. Look forward to meeting the service staff there and I'll definitely have them install any of my aftermarket mods when I get them.

Re: Passport Infiniti, VA

Passport rocks! I drive all the way from Baltimore to get my car serviced down there. If you guys appreciate the service they provide be sure to tell the managers there or go the extra mile and write a letter (which I included in my service survey) like I did. Here's what I sent to Infiniti:

<blockquote><font class="small">In reply to:</font><hr>

To Whom It May Concern:

I am attaching this additional letter to my Service Survey in order to express my overwhelming satisfaction with the service provided to me at Passport Infiniti of Alexandria. I live in Baltimore and there are 2 dealers located near my residence, Nationwide Infiniti of Timonium (5 miles from my house) and JBA Infiniti of Ellicott City (15 miles from my house). Rather than take my beloved G35 Coupe to either of these less than competent establishments I choose to drive 70 miles to Passport Infiniti of Alexandria. You may be asking yourself why. The answer is simple, the quality and level of service provided to me by the highly competent, professional, technically knowledgeable, and courteous staff at Passport Infiniti is worth driving an extra 55 to 65 miles out of my way!

I love my car and am so overly protective of it that it borders clinical paranoia. Yet, I have no fear and no qualms about turning the keys of my car over to Jeff Tanner and the team of service consultants at Passport Infiniti. Upon entering the service department I am greeted and addressed by my first name, a level of familiarity that I personally enjoy. I am then asked what MY needs are. Not what the service department can or cannot do for me that day, as has been the case with other dealerships (JBA Infiniti). I simply outline what I would like done and I’m answered with a resounding “No problem”, unlike other dealerships (Nationwide Infiniti). Jeff, along with the other service reps I’m sure, is extremely knowledgeable. I have never had to explain a TSB or anything else for that matter, like I did at JBA Infiniti. Having to explain the Grease Streak TSB to the service rep at JBA and then being mocked for frequenting a Nissan/Infiniti Enthusiast website was both upsetting and disappointing.

I am then escorted to the well furnished and comfortable waiting area where I am free to watch TV or converse with other friendly and helpful Passport Infiniti associates like Quality Control Manager Chris Ressler. Chris keeps me up to date on the latest information in the Infiniti/G35 world. He also relates to me experiences that other G35 owners have had so that I may benefit from their experience. After some time has passed, Jeff appears and outlines what work has been done and that my car is currently being washed. Jeff shakes my hand and instructs me to visit the cashier. After a few minutes I appear at the cashiers desk where everything is ready and waiting. I pay for services rendered and I am given my keys, a receipt, a note card about this survey, and 2 York peppermint patties…a nice touch!

I walk out to the lot and see my now serviced, washed, and dried car waiting. It is no exaggeration or overstatement, it is a true joy to drive 70 miles and have my car serviced by the excellent staff at Passport Infiniti of Alexandria. People like Jeff Tanner and Chris Ressler embody what every dealership representative should be professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and caring of their customers. I will continue to have my car serviced at Passport Infiniti of Alexandria until they move to Baltimore and become Passport Infiniti of Towson…then I’ll go there instead!

Re: Passport Infiniti, VA

I'd say shop around. Use infiniti's website to get a list of dealerships in your area. Put in a zipcode and a range. Unfortunately, none of the dealers in my area had the car I wanted for the price I wanted. I ended up driving 260 miles north to NY to get the car I was looking for at a decent price. So get a list of zipcodes and max out the range and email them for quotes!

Re: Passport Infiniti, VA

I test drove a G35c at Passport about 3 weeks ago, I was sold as soon as I hit the beltway. I should be returning to purchase within the next few weeks. Great dealership I must say.
