Tires for 08 G35x on Long Island

I know very well this is "beating a dead horse" but I am trying to be area specific. I live in Long Island.
I am getting close to replacing my Sumitomo HTR AS on my 08 G35x. I got the car pre owned with the Sumitomos on stock 17 wheels which already had about 11k miles on them. Now approaching 53K. I was happy with the Sumitomos but I think I can do better. I do not use separate snow tires so need an AS

Enter Tire rack and the Conti Extreme Contact DWS and Michelin Pilot Sport AS. I have read exhaustively about both, price of the Michelins ($$$$) and the soft sidewalls of the Contis.
I am a spirited driver who loves the handling of my "G" and want a blend of handling, and rain/ snow. I am sensitive to the sidewall issue as I have bent a few rims in the past on LI Parkways (not on this car) but am open to the Contis if they are good

Again sorry for broaching a already exhausted topic but I am looking for you members from my area that can comment.

Thanks !!!

You can try the Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus tires...they came out in the summer last year and they're pretty nice on my car.

I've driven it through the snowstorm in the northeast three weeks ago and it has been stellar. I was able to drive faster than most cars on the highway when they were stuck.

absolutely love the conti dws... i just bought a second set for my a4 daily driver. its lowered on coilvoers and full adjustable suspension arms, no worries with the contis supposedly having soft sidewalls. hit up dan from real autodynamics in oceanside, he got them mounted and balanced for me.

I loved my Conti DWS and I'll buy them again. They were quiet on the highway, had good tread life, and are plenty grippy enough for whatever you want to do (within reason, these are all season tires after all).

The thing about the soft sidewall is true, but it wont bother you much. If anything you'll notice it takes longer to react because of the additional tread on the tires compared to the almost bald ones on your car.
