New Jersey Area
I live near Edison, wondering if anyone knew a good Tinting place or a good place that does HID lighting. I called some places don't know if i'm getting a rip off or they just do a good job. lowest i found was 200 at zippos on route 22.
thanks in advance for help.

I've heard good things about them, but haven't seen a job in person. But ask them how they handle the ceramic black dot matrix on the back of the window.
If they sand them or use vinyl, don't bother with them. You want an answer something to the effect of "We use a special glue designed specifically for that area."
Also, make sure you get lifetime warranty against bubbles, peeling, discoloration.

Re: New Jersey Area
The best tint in Central New Jersey is Auto Image and Security on Route 18. Years ago, they did a great job for me on my car. When one of the windows started bubbling up due to a water leak in the window, they retinted the whole car for me under warranty.
That being said, be careful with tint. You will definitely be a target for every "young gun" municipal cop out there who wants to pull someone over for doing nothing. Troopers typically won't bother you, but local cops will. Decide if its worth it.
Stay away from East Brunswick, Plainsboro, East Windsor, and Freehold Township. They love writing tint tickets.
As to whether it is legal or not to have tint . . .that question will always be up for debate. . . .
Good luck.

Re: New Jersey Area
I had my coupe tinted by them back in Nov '02. Good job done and a very nice guy. I recommend.

How can I stay away from East Brunswick when I live here
. But I hear what you are saying. One day I was driving back in my Maxima, and I was pulled over for a head light being out. The cop asked me to pull my passenger side window down to confirm that I didn't have tint. Luckily, I followed the law, and tinted only the back. That was the first time I was asked to pull my window down. I am starting to bend towards "no tint".
It's too bad, because I saw a black coupe fully tinted on the turnpike this morning, and it was a beauty.
