We changed out our snows too early- East Coast

Damnit... remember maybe a week or so back we had a nice warm few days so alot of us couldn't hold out and changed our winters to summers during that weekend.

Well... this past week it has been dropped back 40-30 degrees, this morning when I drove to work it was 25 degrees, You guys think this alright running on summers... it feels a little wierd but I don't think I'd be comfortable driving on wet turf at this temp on my summers.

I think you'll be OK. I'm also in the Boston area (southern NH to be exact) and I'm putting my 19s back on this weekend. Just have to look out for any late season snowfall!!! :O

On dry roads you will be fine... in cold rain you will be fine.

Its just the snow you have to worry about.

nahh it's not jus wet road, or snow, I put my 19's back on last weekend and on wednesday night when i got out of work it was 25 degrees out.....i guess when its that cold the tires dont get good traction. Any way i ended up spining out making a turn out of the plaza where my resteraunt is. I took the turn in second gear doing less than 10 miles per hour. It did not rain or snow all day

Our OEM tires freakin suck in cold. The turn into rocks, and you feel like you're driving the flintstone-mobile.

Anytime it's cold out, I get no grip whatsover under acceleration and the tires spin... then the traction control kicks in, and you go nowhere fast.

You should be OK though if you are aware that the tires don't hook up at all when the temps are below 28 or so degrees. Just drive cautiously. We should be out of the woods in about a week or 2 and ready to roll in some decent 40 degree weather on a consistent basis.

I don't have winter tires and been driving my summer tires the entire winter. You'll be fine as long as there is no snow or icy road. On snow days I usually drive my SUV and on a dry day my G. No problem here even on lo 20's F...

lol yah... just been very cautious lately because my last car.. was totaled due to wet roads in 30 degree weather.. car just slid off road into a forest.. scary that I was in it and watching the whole thing without being able to resist it as much.

I noticed on tire information summers are not recommended through anything under 40 degrees and they are probably putting it that point to be on the safe side.

Good things happen to those who wait.
First week of April should be the time for me. Oh, that reminds me, I noticed a nail in my rear summer tire, when I was taking it off before the winter... gotta get it checked.

I never changed out my Toyo's. I don't drive the car in the winter, but I have taken it out a few times in the cold.. The tires feel fine.. just stay under control and know the car's limits.
