Insurance in NJ

Hello all,
I have been reading all the posts on this website for the past couple of months while I have been waiting for my car (2004 g35 coupe 5AT) and its finally here. I have a question about insurance to all you NJ Drivers. My policy is gonna be about 2800 a year. I am 24, male, clean record (no tickets or accidents for 6 years) and have full coverage with 100/300 limits . Is this a good price or should I keep looking around.

Re: Insurance in NJ

I have N.J. Mfg's Insurance and I pay about $1500 a year.
I'm 34 - male - no tickets or accidents in about ten years.
I think $2800 is pretty good but it can't hurt to shop around.
You didn't mention what insurance co. you have.

Re: Insurance in NJ

I think being young is gonna be my downfall and it will be my main car so unless I can find a beater I think I am just gonna have to pay out for a couple years. I tried to get NJM but there are a bunch of qualifications for new policies one of which is your employer needs to be a member of NJ Buisness & Industry Association which mine is not. Oh well thanks for the replies if it wasn't such a cool car I would be pissed.

Re: Insurance in NJ

hunter,
you said your employer wasnt a memeber of njm. don't know your work situation, but it is very easy and inexpensive for an employer to join the group.

Re: Insurance in NJ

Hey guys. I had a similar issue with insurance. I am 33 with a clean record and Allstate wanted $3900 for the year!! I have since switched to NJCure(NJCure.com) and I now pay $1375 a year full coverage. You may want to give them a try.

Re: Insurance in NJ

Let me remind you again of
Ways to lower your Insurance:

* Increase your deductible
* Have a good driving record
* Decline the tow reimbursement, loss usage coverages ... those unnecessary coverage
* Register your car at a 'low crime' area
* Switch to a G35 Seden
* Grow some gray hair and lie about your age
* Get marry, have a family and some kids

AllState has one of the most outrageous rates. I am with AIG and paying > $1300 a year full coverage with $1000 deductible.
