Woohoo got my car back.

Well I didn't want to post till it was in my possession again, but this was also the main reason why I could not show up for the Fairfield meet last week.
Handed my car in 1 month ago to have the upgrades done and was promised that it would be done in time ........which it was not;

Block bored .020 over
JE pistons 9.3:1 Compression
Carillo rods,
SP stage 2 Cams,
APS 440cc Inj., Walboro pump
Knife edged crankshaft,
5 angle valve job,
titanium retainers
Dual valve springs (inner and outer)
redline now 8,000rpm
ARP headstud
APS TT...and other little things

Right now I have it tuned very conservatively due to A)I do not have an exhaust to let it breath better...need a true dual and B) I need to upgrade the VB and get a tranny cooler (sometime next month)

Other than that the car drives awesome, I am at 440whp and 420 ft lbs trq @12psi on 91 octane, I lose traction in 1st and 2nd if I romp on it which feels great, hopefully when I get the remaining items I will be tuning for 500whp but due to me deciding on keeping the HF cats (no test pipes for me) I know that they are going to be a restriction I will have to live with, this is the price I pay to be partialy compliant with the CARB laws

Hopefully I will see you all around at the next meet.

OMG . . . Your new set-up sounds insane, Paul. Congrats on your new build and please be careful out there with all of those ponies at your disposal. Looking forward to seeing your data after the final tune. I'm sure it's going to be quite a monster.

Responsive....hell yeah, I went from a stop at about 1/2 throttle against a M3 and by the time I was in 3rd I was about 5 cars in front and this was babying it till the VB is upgraded. I also love the BOV sound, just driving to our local meet up point makes people just stare.

My friend's STI got caught in SJ and he is going to have to take everything out by certify police mechanic plus pay $3k in ticket fine. Officer issued single ticket for single modification and he got alot of ****s under the hood. good luck and have fun!

Wow

Sounds like a beast you got there now Urban. I was wondering how do you like it compared to your old vortech setup?

Well it started all because of a race I had with an STi, I wanted to run from 40 which is great for the Vortech as you need to be around 4000rpm to get in the power band but the guy wanted 50 which is crap for me, we went twice and he killed me, I was like an NA car for a few seconds and then the SC would kick in. I ran his friend who said he would go at 40 and I took him by 15 car lengths.

This was on a Friday night and Saturday I was on the phone with the shop asking for more power. Difference is night and day, more torque comes in real handy...over 100 more than I had with the Vortech, also I have full boost way earlier, there is no lag on these APS twins, only downside is that there not CARB legal so I have to be more careful how I drive.

This setup netted 563whp on the other cars it was installed on and with 100 octane and methanol was close to 700whp but I am not that crazy and just wanted something a tad quicker.

On my test as a daily driver I managed 27.7 miles per galloon which is 1 mile less than what I was getting with the Vortech.
