I was on the middle lane of stevens creek blvd at 1AM and decided to turn right onto deanza blvd(there were no cars behind me) when the light turned green out of nowhere i see a car behind me. Before the lights even flashed, I knew it was a cop.

Ok now I got a ticket for making that illegal turn. Any ways of fighting it? or go to court and pray that the cop does not show up. What's the easiest way to get out of this besides traffic school? I don't have a bunch of time on my hands. Which online traffic school works btw?

on a side note, the cop was a female(more likely to appear in court i guess ) and complemented my car but still gave me the ticket.

I used gotaticket.com. Really easy and cheap. The test is easy, but you do have to read the material because they throw in random trivia that is on the test. Good luck!

I found traffic school not to be all that time consuming. Since you're eligible, just do that. If you really are tight on time and don't mind spending a little money, you can get a traffic lawyer ($500), who can go to court for you and contest. How clearly marked was the turn? If you were sincerely unaware that you were doing an illegal turn, you may have a chance (e.g. poorly labeled road, etc..).

I just finished my on line traffic school finally!

It's fast and quick and easy. Only $19.99 It lets you go at your own pace and has quizes after each section. Or you can go stright for the final pre test or final test. You also don't need a notary to verify your I.D. I spent at most 1 hour to complete and test. I could have been done sooner, if I knew how easy it was. Mostly "T" & "F" answers.

Also, it only takes about 2 days to get your Certificate in the mail.

Since you were in Cupertino, I assume it was a Santa Clara County Deputy Sheriff as Cupertino does not have a police department. What did the deputy cite you for? 22100(a) VC? There are many, many ways to win in court. Sorry, I won't share those with you. You just have to know the process. Sometimes it depends on the judge. The last time I was in Palo Alto court, I was there for the attorney calender. Technically, I should have lost. Part of that was the D/A's fault. But the commissioner was a no nonsense guy and ruled in my favor (believe me when I tell you, he did you, me, my coworkers, and family a favor by finding the guy guilty). The judge saw past the techincalities and did probably what he thought was best for the motoring public. But there are judges that require very specific testimony from the officer.

Just a hint: If the deputy cited you 22107 VC or 21658(a) VC, you might have a chance of winning depending on how you argue it. If she cited you 22100(a) VC, just take the traffic school.

If i'm not mistaken, I heard one judge say Santa Clara County only recognizes one on-line traffic school. I don't remember which one it is, though.
