Part of I-580 by the bay bridge collapsed this morning

Not sure how many of you pay attention to the local news, but a portion of the I-580 collapsed early this morning . 880N to 80W is no longer accessible, and neither is 80E to much of east bay via 580E. a gas tanker flipped and was on fire, melting the freeway overpass above it . it is expected to take months to repair.

local news coverage at KRON4.com, ktvu.com and cbs5.com

looks like my car will be getting some rest... BART for me!

Thank goodness this accident happened during the very early hours of the morning. I can only imagine what might have occured if there were more people travelling on these roadways.

It made news here in LA. Something like 89,000 gallons (did I hear that right?) of unleaded fuel caught fire when the driver took the transition too fast and flipped it.
Said also its gonna mess things up traffic wise something like it did back in 89's earthquake and for a very long time
Oh snap...here we go again...

Sorry, it was all my fault. I took that turn too fast last night and everything caught on fire.

That's going to screw up my commute. I work like 5 miles away. Like traffic there isn't bad enough as it is.
