That's more than 2/3's of my fiancee's weight. The OEM exhaust setup from headers back weighs about 100lbs. My current setup with aftermarket midpipes/muffler weighs about 80 lbs. With the upcoming titanium setup, everything should weigh 25 lbs from the headers back. The M3 vert is 300 lbs heavier that the coupe, so every pound counts.

I'm considering pulling the whole soft top motor and assembly and rear seats (that's the 300 lbs) completely, but I've been told it is next to impossible to bolt back in if I ever sell the car.

boris, don't touch the soft top - you got a convertible, use it. boost will alleviate any difference in weight.

Looks great Boris. I can't wait to see the final product. It makes me want to buy an M and start a project.

Currently I'm running the unresonated Supersprint Section 1 & 2. I plan on upgrading to the Eisenhaus Meisterschaft TI Section 1 & 2, and running it with the new Solid Design TI exhaust.

I'll still have a convertible, if I leave the hardtop at home... I'm likely not going down the route of pulling the assembly because of the costs involved and the fact that it's not irreversable.

Thanks Eloy. My advice to you: don't start this kind of project. I feel like a part of me is missing with my car in the shop everyday. I'm so tempted to come there and drive it in its current stripped down condition.

Nothing intersting to update. I told them to take their time and not touch the car unless 2 employees can devote their full attention to it. As a result, this week it went untouched, but it should hit paint by the end of next week.
