It was painful at first, but I've gotten used to it. I think it will be strange once I finally see it put back together!

Thanks Eloy. Excitement isn't one of the feelings I've had lately. Not having the car has brought out feelings of sadness and rage. I NEED it back.

Somebody has been borrowing my DSLR, and I can't find my point & shoot, so all the progress shots were all taken on my cell phone. I think I may make that my trademark. All future photoshoots and DIY's will be captured with my 1.3 megapixel phone cam!

This is a very involved project and I'm lucky to be working with such a trustworthy shop. I'm really looking forward to its completion.

5/30 - Lots of progress was made today, the 5 coats of paint and 4 coats of clear were sprayed on the car, and it was in the curing booth. After everything else is painted it will be time for color/wetsanding and reassembly of the car. If everything goes as planned it will be back in my posession next Friday!

I guess this means it's time to unveil my color choice. The best OEM color ever, Alpine White. My initial plan was to go with Bianco Fuji Pearlescent (the color of the Maserati MC12), but then the owner of the infamous chrome M3 posted pics of his car in that color. I decided to then go with my fallback Lambo White, but something just felt wrong about that color. So, I went with what the color I had ALWAYS envisioned my dream M3 to be... Alpine White. I'm so excited for the project to be complete, the paint looks amazing and really sets off the Cinnamon interior.

So, without further ado, today's progress shots:

Thanks Igor!

I thought the sealant or basecoat would have thrown somebody off to think it was a different color.

I would have gone with a custom color that you don't see on any othe M3 but Alpine white is the best white ever.
