WOW! Glad you are alright. Here we have people who don't understand wrong way. I remember comming out of the gas station onto a 4 lane main street and there was a lady driving the wrong way and almost wiped out 6 cars.
glad you're okay... another pontiac grand am bites the dust...
how dumb can people be.... besides being drunk... i've seen idiots enter the off ramp to get on the freeway... i thought, i'm glad i wasn't getting off that exit....

Scary stuff, especially when it's dark. Last thing you'd expect, huh?
Glad nothing happened to you. Sux about the car that drunk did hit head on.
Defensive driving is the only way to stay alive now-a-days.
I had a close one on the 12 today heading towards I5 to LA. Some moron passing with on coming traffic being....ME!!

Thanks again, guys.
Crazy how both drivers were drunk, huh? I-80 between Oakland and Fairfield is crazy in the early hours, especially during the weekends. Everyone is driving way too fast.

wow, how did he manage to go the wrong way? drive up a offramp? lol. people now days. my friend ran over some guy and killed him off the side off a freeway before 280 south near the ceasar chavez exit a little over a month ago because he was drunk. he was apparently changing a flat with his headlights on and he drifted into him somehow? either way, hes looking to 5+ years atleast i bet, but for now hes on bail. he won't touch a ounce of alcohol anymore.

If you are going to be driving in the wee hours of the morning, keep in mind that bars close at 2am. Obviously there isn't much traffic on the road at that time so assume every car you see is going to have a drunk driver. When we patrol on graveyards, we tend to stay out of the fast lane for the exact reason you just mentioned in your story. When the drunks get on the freeway going the wrong way, they instictively drive in what they think is the slow lane. Which is the fast lane for the sober folks. Your best bet is to drive in the middle lanes from 130am to about 430am. I'm not offering a guarantee, just a bit of advice.
