I had the higher level Comcast service for two months and I was consistently getting speeds of 13-15mb/s. Sometimes upwards of 20mb/s. It was absolutely nuts. I would suggest those that feel they are lagging in speeds, upgrade their cable models as I found my old Motorola Surfboard (8 years old) was absolutely limiting my speeds.

that's pretty good speed that you are getting David, but if you are still in elk grove, have you try to see if you can get surewest. My brother in law has that at his house and he is getting 20mb/s. He also has it bundled with tv and phone service.

I thought I had it good with comcast's 8 mb/s package until I used his and man was the speed fast, makes my connection like dial up.

Comcast is good with their 8mb package but only if there's usages from your neighbors... but

Sorry for being a bit late to this thread...

To the OP, your sales rep misinformed you... you have a pm.

The download is 6MPS and the upload is always half of the down, so with your package, it's 3MPS. And the U100 does not come with a DVR. If you want a DVR with that package, it'll be $15 a month, so he should have just set you up with the U200 which costs $15 more btw. But this is a great service with many more great features to come! This system has enough bandwidth to do many things, and although the internet speeds are capped at 6MPS right now while other features are being tested, we don't know what the future holds for this system yet. There are talks of many things like faster speeds, more features, etc... but nobody knows when and if what will be turned on.

And as for Verizon, you will never see AT&T and Verizon in the same areas.

And come to think of it, I don't think we have 1 month free for the U100 as a promotion for July... We can give you the U300 or U400 free for one month or $15 off either of those packages for a year, or a $15 movie package free for a year, along with the free installation. Check your PMs!

ADSL is our standard over the phone line DSL... With U-Verse, it's upgraded to VDSL, or xDSL.

Quick question if this is the case being that it is referred to a DSL line, does that mean you still need to pay for a phone line in order for DSL to be used?

You don't need a phone line for VDSL.

We don't do contracts even if you want one.
