I was talking about n/a cars. Even with boosted i doubt it will make the car any faster. Mine is raised to 7100 and the power cut off is at 6200-6300. Guess what happened when i shifted at 7100, I trapped 2mph lower and 0.2 second slower in a 1/4 mile run, compare to shifting at 6600rpm on the tach. I have seen many F/I dynos that the power cuts off at no more than 6500rpm. So if it does not help the acceleration of a N/A car i don't see how it would help a F/I without cams. I have actually tested this theory myself at the dragstrip.

New Dyno Numbers

Results after newest tune, lost a little bit of torque on the low end, but the car DEFINITELY pulls harder now, especially at the higher RPMs.

It was also a little warmer today than it was the last time I went to EIP (about 65 degrees outside today compared to about 55 last week).

Base
RWHP: 193.2
Torque: 175.3

Current
RWHP: 211.5 (+18.3)
Torque: 190.4 (+15.1)

For reference, a stock '03 Evo will pull about 180 rwhp on this dyno and a '06 Evo puts down around 220 rwhp. So in all, very respectable numbers, and a decent gain across the entire power band. I would highly recommend this to all Nor*cal G owners, as Paul takes his time to do the job right, and the numbers really speak for themselves.

$700 installed/tuned is a good deal, but the gains don't justify the price.

I gained 35RWHP/30RWTQ with Unichip + tuning.

Don't forget that the tune was done on two different days (not an ideal situation I know, but it couldn't be helped).

The base dyno before the tune on the second day was ~190hp/~189tq; I should have asked Paul for that graph too, but it slipped my mind. It's amazing what a difference not dyno-ing on the same day makes.

Taking into account the lower base dyno on the second day, I would put the gains more in the region of +25whp, +20tq.

Vodkarocket - did you gain 35rwhp on your M3 with the unichip? And isn't the base price on the unichip over $700 as well (not to mention additional cost of dyno tuning)? This isn't an attack on your post, I'm just trying to clear up any ambiguity so I can understand where you're coming from. =)

No, not the M3, my G35. Unichip was about $950 OTD, so the cost is more than Osiris but $/HP is higher.

I'll try and dig up the dyno-sheet, but IIRC the end result was 259RWHP for an all-motor 5AT sedan...

i see your sig saying (never modded), did you achieve that gain with stock exhaust, intake, etc?
