of course, getting the drive to work is your first thing to do. once that's done you can definitely use the software your mom bought as well. one thing to keep in mind: do NOT use two anti-virus programs or two firewalls together, this could mess up the machine. for anti-spyware stuff, go ahead and install as many as you want (though i personally just stick with those two, as well as windows defender which is free from Microsoft and should have come pre-installed with Vista)

REMOTE computer diagnosis and help for Cru and you. for other, less... "frisky" people, they can bring their laptops to meets and i can try to help. otherwise, if a meet is at their house, i can try and help with a desktop
