FIXED Computer help with IP addresses

UPDATE: GIRI IS FVCKING AWESOME! netstat did the trick and everything works now.

Does anyone know of a free program that allows me to check what IP addresses other programs are checking/pinging?

I have a program that gives me remote access to a server, however I don't know the IP address of that server, and the file with that IP address was deleted by a colleague. Since this program accesses the server each time it launches and each time a change is made, there must be some way of tracking the IP address. Anyone know about a tool that can do this?

Do you know the name of the server?

Are you accessing this server on your works network or from your home PC on the internet?

open up a command prompt (START->RUN type in cmd and hit return) and then type 'netstat'. this ill show you all your active connections. you can try to deduce it from there....

thanks Jenn that's sweet of you. I think Chris' & Giri's tips will do the trick. I'll try and remotely connect to my work computer from home tonight and see if their suggestions help, otherwise I'll do it right at work tomorrow. Worst comes to worst, I'll call the colo-serve and have 'em poke around in their records
