Never go to Audio Waves Plus. San Jose, CA

I had the worst experience ever!

I was trying to do the first mod to my car which was tinting the windows and the factory ipod integration so my supervisor at work said this guy has a connection with our company because we send him so many of our cars. So I decided to go there.

I spent about 2 whole Saturdays, one Saturday I was there from 8:30 am to 6:30 for them to install the tint and the ipod integration and the next Saturday I was there from 8:30 to 3:30 to have them fix the ipod mess up.

Before he started the install I was telling him that I wanted the tint to be as close to the edge of the windows as possible and he said no problem. When the windows was done, the film was cut uneven so there were gaps here and there on the edges of the windows so I had them redo the driver and passenger windows twice. And There is still bubbles in my tint! I am just going to go to another place and pay more to get it done right.

The ipod integration also was a mess up. The entire time he was installing I was telling the owner I wanted the kit that display the names of songs, artists, etc and is installing through the SAT in the trunk. He installed the one through the head unit made my USA spec which doesnt' display the names. I was so frustrated . He said why didnt i tell him that wasnt the one i wanted, but I was telling him so many times during the install

I then had to go buy the part myself and then bring it back to him. Note that I live an hour from San Jose which is where the shop is located

I went back again this past Saturday spending my time from 8:30 to 3:30 taking out the other USA spec kit and then putting in the Nissan factory ipod integration kit. He then did something to mess up my A/C and heater functions. The A/C only works at 60 degrees in manual mode. At 61 degrees the heater comes on at full blast. I want to bring it to the back dealership to fix the A/C and heater, but I am scared that the ipod integration would void my warranty.

I asked him if he could fix the bubble in my windows and he said yeah but his guy has 5 car. I was like how long would it take. The owner said it would just take 15 mins, but he doesnt want to pull his worker from the cars. Man I waited almost two whole working days at his damn shop.

The first Saturday I was there I saw this one guy who was almost there the same amount of time I was there. First the back speaker didnt work so they fixed that, then he leaves and comes back with the front speaker not working and then they fixed that. Then he comes back again saying that the whole system shuts off randomly.

I am so angry.

Does anyone know where I can get my windows tinted correctly in the East Bay (perferably near walnut creek/Lafayette area)?

It pays to search, read, then ask around the Forum before you do anything to your car. Good Luck with the fixes.

Try Phil @ ADS in San Bruno. Dont know if that is too far for you to drive, but they've done the tint on 3 of my current cars and 11 of my past cars. Usually does a great tint job. ADS is a detail shop but he works closely with King Tint who does the tint. For ipod stuff try Audio Images in Burlingame. They did my ipod in my Lexus GS430 and it works great.
