Lucky it wasn't worse, that will be easy to fix, plus rental insurance will cover it.

That's disgustingly bad parking... "I didn't even feel it?" Are you kidding me?
Argh... **** like this pisses me off. I'm glad you manage to keep your cool. I'm not sure if I could have...

that sucks! Sorry to hear it...and the fact of dealing with the insurance company. reminds me of my dumb a$$ moment. Downtown SJ and leaving the bar (not drinking for once) and notice that the paddy wagon was out and sjpd was loading 2 guys in the back. Well, the car directly behind me (parallel parking on the street) was used as a desk for the police. As i'm leaving, I back up and actually hit the car the police were using. The look on the officers face was almost priceless, cause my look was worse...HAHA! they were cool about it and I went home to change my pants.

Well it's sorta hard to hear/feel anything when you're pumping distorted Scottish bagpipe music through rental car speakers at maximum volume...

I'd be so pissed... I showed this thread to one of my coworkers who is Scottish and arrived here about 2 years ago... I asked him if this is how they drive in some parts of Scotland? lol of course he denied it.

The driver probably pulled in intoxicated . . . Didn't feel the bump? . . . Perhaps.

The upside is that you were quite fortunate that the car and driver were found. Hopefully, a speedy fix is in the picture.

Now the question is where to take the car. I'm still waiting for the adjuster to call back. Any suggestions on a body shop that will work with AAA in south San Jose area?

Very stereotypical comment to make, I am from the UK so does that mean I do not know how to drive properly in this country...I think not.
