Hey guys, new owner here, got a question

I just got my 06 IP 6mt last week, been loving the car, however one of the options that came with the car has been annoying me. on the fender right in front of the rear wheels, there's 2 big plastic film things (I forgot the term for them) that I don't see the purpose for. They just sit and gather dirt around the edges , Since it's infront of the wheels I don't see how it would protect anything.

Anyhow I want to remove them, so before I just go and try to yank them off, anybody have any warnings or suggestions on how I should do it? are there any specific steps I should follow?

that? side molding if so. it is supposed to prevent door dings and the such but I would remove it if my car had it.

I believe you are talking about the "clear bra" in front of the rear fender flares.

I would leave those on. They help from getting rock chips. That area could possibly get a bit of rock chips since they flare out

since they've been on the car from the factory, if you tried to remove them, there will be a color discrepency. leave them on.

Like said before, it's a clear bra so I would leave it on.

I was talking about the Clear bra infront of the fender yes.

so every G35 has them? I thought maybe they were an option you can get when you get the car. if they really do work well, the top one on the passenger side is missing. should I go to the dealership and get an replacement?

You're talking about the stone guards. My G has them, as well. I'd recommend picking up a new one. It shouldn't cost you more than $15.

hmmm I just checked on the website for stoneguard it showed fender right, but i'm pretty sure they meant the front fenders. Would this be a factory part?

Yes, it's definitely a factory part.

Are you absolutely sure they mean front fenders?

You should call the parts dept. at a dealership tomorrow to clarify.
