That is pretty disgusting. The officer is screwed. I'm glad at least that so many people caught it on tape. There will be no way of hiding things. I feel so sorry for his family and what they must be going through.

On the news, one of the witnesses said, from the look on the officers face after he shot the guy, he might of accidentally shot the guy.....so sad.

^Agreed....what happened in the first place that warranted a gun to be pulled out?

They said he may have confused it for a tazer?
Seems unlikely. They also said that tazer guns were on a shortage because they're so expensive.

feel sorry to that guy especially thats new years eve. and ya, that cop is screwed... one wrong decision in life can destory the whole life. although he accidently shot the guy, it was still a bad move when he pulled out the gun.

I was reading this morning about the officer intended to use the taser as well. Normally, the taser is kept on the opposite side of the hip that the service weapon is on. But they also said that he could've mixed up the two becuase BART officers were just recently issued tasers. But if you look at the video, the officer was holding the weapon with more than ample time to distinguish his service weapon from his taser. It's pretty hard to mix up a bright yellow taser stun gun with an actual gun.

i'm pretty sure they sed tazer on the news...but then again, who's to say that thats an excuse to cover it up...Kids should have never been startin trouble/Cop should have never drew his weapon (gun or tazer)...both unecessary, but both happened. saad.

If indeed the taser is just a cover up, I wonder how he would have justified shooting a person in the back that's already in handcuffs? I guess we'll all have to wait and see as this story pans out.
